Two days after their meeting with Leia Rey, Finn and Poe had set up in an unused office on one of the lower floors of the station. The walls were plastered with security images from before the cameras were broken, and next to them were handwritten notes of how to get images from those points.
"We could put a drone past? It could take photos and they're small." Rey suggested.
"To loud, to conspicuous." Finn decided, and the group shrugged.
"A drive past is too uncommon. Barely any cars go past that town." Finn shot himself down.
"Cars are uncommon, but light aircraft aren't. People take personal planes over they town all the time! It's open, makes for a good view." Poe said. "I could fly over, fit a camera to the bottom of the plane and take photos as I go, then circle back round. That way we could make it regular."

Rey and Finn looked at each other sceptically. Finn knew his partner was ex-airforce, was still ranked as one of if not the best pilot in the history of the force, but it was dangerous.
"I don't know, Organa did say they had advanced weaponry, it could be able to detect what you're doing." Rey said exactly what Finn was thinking.
"Then I tell them I'm a historic photographer, you guys can talk me through it, anyway." He said, and after some debate it was decided. Finn would fly over the town in the morning, then fly back from a different angle in an attempt to get photos from all angles.

Poe went home to prepare his plane and sleep while Finn fell down, exhausted in the breakroom and Rey curled up on the couch opposite him. The sun was already below the horizon by the time Poe had left with the communications equipment, so Finn didn't have long to sleep until he was woken by the crackle of the radio and Poe's staticky voice bellowing 'GOOOOOODMORNIN' VIETNAM!' accompanied by the revving of the plane motor. He swung up and mad his way through the empty floor to the office.
"Mornin' Dameron. Everything set?" Finn waved to Rey as she set the coffee machine.
"Well, the com line works, so that's a good thing, the plane hasn't exploded, so that as well, is promising. I'm just warming her up, then I'll be off." Finn heard something clang as he nodded, throwing a look over his shoulder as Rey standing impatiently at the whirring machine.
"Look, Poe, you need to be careful. No matter how inconspicuous you think you are, no matter how good a pilot, they will be able to see you, and we don't known what else they can do. You're my partner, Dameron. Hell, you're my best friend, and me and Rey need you to come back from this in one piece." Finn heard the coffee machine finish.
"Don't you worry. I'll be fine." There was a pause. "If I don't, get back I mean, move out of your shitty flat, take care of my dog, keep my house clean." He laughed, but Finn could tell it wasn't all that happy.
"Yeah, sure."

"You boys okay? Everything working alright?" Rey placed the coffee down on the table and Finn nodded.
"I'm just locking up now. I'm ready to go."
"Be careful. You're clear to go." Rey activated the camera, and her laptop showed everything it could see, and gave her the power to take photos at any time. The camera rose off the ground smoothly and banked, heading away from Poe's ranch and toward the abandoned town.
"Everything running smoothly, approaching mountain range." The town was nestled between an intersection of rugged mountains, making it a perfect place to defend. It was understandable why The First Order chose to set up shop in it.

Poe dropped slightly lower as he crossed the mountains, then pulled up and rolled the plane before lowering altitude further.
"Are you trying to draw attention to yourself?" Finn shouted at him through the coms, only to hear his partner laugh.
"My story changed. I'm a show pilot filming my practises. It gives me an excuse to get lower." Rey nodded, telling Poe to stay on course as she took photos.
"These are clear, we can zoom in later, swing round for the other angle." Rey instructed, and Finn twisted a hand into his hair.

"I'm on my way." The camera passed over the town and Poe pulled another flip as he turned to approach.
"See? I told you both this was going to be....shit!" Finn leaped up and Rey grabbed the microphone.
"Poe? What's happening?" She shouted, and the small amount of early morning police looked into the office with narrowed eyes.
"Are you caught in air current?" Finn asked quickly, but Poe dismissed it.
"No, my pressure and everything are fine, but I can't control my instruments! I can't steer!" The sound of switches being flicked and things being tampered with could be heard over the coms.
"Someone get Organa and the RGF guys." People looked at Finn in confusion. "NOW!" A man leaped up and quickly pressed his phone to his ear.
