Chapter 9 - Zoran

Odette P.O.V.

I walk down the stairs with Delilah.
We walk into what she said was the tea place and I see king Zais already having another cup of tea.

"Well I'm ready king Zais."

"Amazing! Let's go to the castles private garden. I told Zoran to meet me there right now, I told him I would introduce him to a friend." King Zais explains to me.

"Alright Princess." Delilah waves bye to me.

I walk with the king and he instructs me to sit down on an enormous mushroom that was planted behind vines and bushes, in between a forest of trees. He said he'd tell Zoran to look for me on the only mushroom in the garden.

Zoran P.O.V.

"Zoran sit down, I have something to tell you." my king tells me.
I sit down on a boulder.

"Is it about the crowning ceremony?" I ask rather anxious because I really can't wait till next week.

"Well yes, I have decided to cancel the ceremony."

I jump and confusion fills me.

"What?... Why?" I ask.

"My boy, I have found another heir. Therefore-"

"What??!!" I yell even more confused. I thought I was the only heir!!

"Don't interrupt me! As I said before, I have just found another heir and therefore you two have to compete for the crown." the king says.

"What?! Where is he?! I'll beat him just you watch!" I walk in circles furious. The throne is mine! I have trained and non stop prepared myself to be king, and now my king tells me that some else could take my crown?! I'll slice the throat of that new so called heir!

"Zoran!! I've never seen you this angry! Calm down! I didn't think you'd react like this. Now I'm reconsidering if I should present the new heir or not." the king says frustrated.

I calm down for the sake of meeting the New heir.

"I'm alright my king, I... I want to meet him."

"It's not a man you have to worry about." the kings says while chuckling.

"What do mean? A boy?" I ask slightly confused.

"Why don't you find out for yourself? Go to the only mushroom in this garden and you two will meet."

With those instructions my legs carry me running to the only mushroom I've ever known since a child. I push my way through the vines and then stop at the sight of a females back. My breath is short with quick paces.
A.... A girl?? I am to go against a girl?!
This is nonsense!!

"You..." I say with clenched teeth.

She turns around and looks at me surprised. My eyebrows raise, my head tilts, my breathing stops at her light blue eyes with silky half lavender half brown hair.

All emotions within my body stop. She's so beautiful. My anger for her is small now. I stay standing still for a few seconds longer and then regain my posture, I bow and try introducing myself.

"Hello madam, I am Prince Zoran." I say in the nicest tone I've ever used.
She smiles with relief. She gets up and bows.

"Hello Prince Zoran, I am Princess Odette." she says with a jaw dropping smile.

"I... So your the....?" I stutter in my words. I don't know how to say what I'm thinking.

"I'm the new heir you have to compete with. Although I don't think you'll have to try, you've had years of experience and I've only had today."

"You are correct." I was angry and filled with hate for nothing. She's no competition.

"I am new to everything and anything I can do. I don't even know all my powers yet." she says then look down.

This girl needs help, she will never reach my kind of power but the least I can do is help her.

"Don't worry, I'll help you." I say as extend my hand for hers.

She smiles and reaches to taking my hand until her eyes grow heavy then at the touch of her fingertips she falls to the ground. My eyebrows furrow in confusion, and then it hits me. She's transforming. She's going through the same thing I went through. It's very painful and devastating. No one should ever go through these things, other elementals think it's so easy being a royal. They don't know that this only happens to royals.

"Don't worry, I'll take care of you."
I whisper as I pick her up and carry her inside the palace.

"King Zais!"

"Yes my boy Zoran?" the king appears with a cup of tea that he soon drops and crashes to the marble floor.

"What did you do to the girl?!" the king yells at me furiously.

"I didn't do anything my king. Remember she is a royal. She is going through transformation. She's going through what you and I have gone through."

"Oh, then we'll need the potion. Derek!" the king calls for the teacher that made the potion for me.

"Yes my king?" Derek comes running.

"We're going to need the potion that you made for Zoran when he was in transformation."

"Yes sire I'll go get it but, shall I make more of it as well?"

"Yes just get me the potion." my king replies.

"Where is her room so that I may lay her there." I demand.

"Where is the personal maid of Odette?!" the king calls out loud enough for me to flinch.

"Here I am!" says a maiden as she comes flying in a rush down the stairs.

"Lead Prince Zoran to the room of Odette."

The girl starts flying and so do I. We go up stairs and into a hallway, I look down at Odette in my arms, she's pale and she's not going to get any better until she strikes that potion, I want allowed anywhere when I was transforming because this phase it's dangerous for any royal. Any enemy character could easily capture me since transforming allows you to faint very often, but causes dreadful stomach pains and headaches.
