Chapter 8 - New Friend

The maiden opens the door. I walk in with her, it's so beautiful. The walls are red on one side and white on the other. The bed is huge with blood red covers and red curtains above it.

"Is this really my room." I ask

"Yes your highness, as a princess you deserve the best." the maiden says.

"Right." I faintly say.

"We don't have much time, I still need to teach you the right manners and attitude for a princess."

"Okay we can start." I say.

"Okay, well first you bow to anyone when your meeting them. Your posture must be strait and delicate. I'll fix your face in a little because there is dirt on your cheeks. Next is when eating you don't race to finish, you chew nice and steady until done. Finally the only thing left is just be happy with a kind heart, enjoy being a princess." she laughs and smiles.

I got it at least. I did almost everything as she listed them. Being a princess shouldn't be too hard.

"So what's your name?" I ask the maiden.

"Delilah, Oh yeah and I forgot one. Talk super posh." she laughs again.

"What do you do?" I'm curious.

"I am a maid. What does it look like I am?" she giggles.

"I just wanted to get it right. Are you my personal maid?" she's like my first friend since I got here and since this whole thing happened. She laughs so much, and she is so pretty with her light purple colored eyes and that baby blue hair.

"No, I wish I was. That would save me from a lot of work. Because then I would be like your undercover maid I would assist your everywhere with everything." she sighs.

"Well I want you to be my personal maid. Your like my only friend since any of this happened to me. I'll go ask the king." her eyes bulge out.

"You'll do that?!" she explodes with excitement.

"I have to ask though. Lets go." I say walking back through where we came from.

"I don't know if he'll allow it." she says playing with her index fingers.

"He has to. My king Zais!" I enter the cafeteria and bow before the king.

"Yes Odette?." wow he called me by my name. He probably does that to the Prince as well.

"King Zais I want to ask if this maiden could be my personal maiden because she is a great friend and could help me in many ways."

"Of course princess. You don't need to ask me for everything. You are allowed to make small arrangements as well." Zais tells me.

"Eeee!!!" Delilah and I start hugging and jumping together because this princess thing just might be super fun.

"Thank you king Zais."

"Your very welcome. You two will get along well I see. Oh and by the way Odette, you are to meet Zoran today late afternoon. I will tell the news to him then so go and make yourself presentable."

"Alright your highness." I say.

I turn and start walking back to my room with Delilah.

"Delilah is Zoran mean?" I ask

"Oh no your highness. Zoran is considered to be the nicest boy in this planet."

"But what if he takes the news really wrong. He could very much want to kill me."
