*Alice P. O. V*
I wake up with a huge pounding headache. I try to sit up in my bed to turn off my alarm but my head pounds when I sit upright so I try to throw myself at the alarm clock and hope my arm hits the snooze button. Instead of me hitting the button, I faceplate off of the bed and hit my arm on the bedside table. I moan loudly and slowly push myself off of the ground. While holding my head, I walk down to the kitchen and get myself some aspirin. I swallow the pills down with water and make my way back up to my room to get dressed. I see Britney come stumbling out of her room, she looks way worse than I do, clutching onto her own head, she makes her way downstairs. I close my bedroom door and slip on my light wash jeans, with a maroon sweatshirt. I sweep my curly hair into a ponytail at the top of my head and slowly make my way downstairs, my head still throbbing. I throw on my socks and converse when the door bell rings. I grab a banana from the counter and yell "Coming!" I swing my backpack onto my shoulder and open the front door. I come face to face with Mason. "You must be looking for Britney" I say to him, "I will go grab her for you" right as I am about to go upstairs he grabs my arm and says "No, I am here to see you." I look into his blue eyes and I get butterflies in my stomach. "What?" I ask him. "Last night, you left your purse in my car." He explains. Figures. "Oh, thanks" I mumble. "Would you like a ride?" He blurts out. I smile and nod my head. I close the door and he guides me by the small of the back to his car. My cheeks flush red and I have to turn my face the other way in order to hide it from him. He opens the door for me and I slide into the front seat. He gets into the car just as Britney comes running out of the house yelling "Mason! Hi! Can I have a ride too?!" He ignores her and puts the car into gear, driving away. I let out a laugh and he shoots me a smile. "Your hair looks really good today" he compliments. I run my hands through  curls and respond "Really? I am not a big fan of my curls" He gives me a disbelieving look and scoffs. "What?" I ask. He opens the door to his car,  gets out, but leans back in and says "You're golden curls are perfect." Then he slams the door shut, leaving me a blushing mess. Alice, you promised yourself to not fall for the player, I think. I shake my head and get out of Mason's car. The whole day, I can only think about Mason. I slowly start to remember things from last night and I don't know if he meant what he said last night or this morning. Who am I kidding, how could someone like Mason ever fall for a girl like me. I am boring, and I am nothing compared to my sister. Finally the bell rings, signaling the end of the day. I jump out of my seat and run straight to my locker. A note falls out of my locker and I get butterflies in my stomach. Maybe it's from Mason, I think blushing. I unfold the note and it reads: Went home early cause my head hurt too bad, you're going to have to find another ride. -Brit. I sigh from disappointment as I shove the letter in my locker. I feel so stupid thinking that it was Mason. He doesn't like you, I think to myself, just stop trying to think you have a chance. I feel a light tap on my shoulder and I turn around. There stands Joseph staring at me with innocent eyes, "Get away from me" I almost yell at him. He looks at me with pleading eyes and says "Alice, I am so sorry, truly I am. Please forgive me" he starts to touch my shoulder but I shov his hand away. "Please" he begs grabbing my hand. Suddenly his hand is ripped away from mine. "What the hell did I say about touching Alice?" An angry voice yells at Joseph. I look up to see Mason's eyes fuming. "I was just apologizing" Joseph tries to explain. "Just leave Joseph." I say to him, calmly. "I'm so sorry" He says. Mason glares at him and he finally walks away. I look up at Mason and say to him "I could have handled that myself you know." He looks startled, "I was just trying to help." He explains. "I don't need your help." I say defensively. "I don't see what the big deal is." He exclaims. "Of course you don't" I retort, slamming my locker door shut. I start to walk away and I hear him say "I'm just trying to help you Alice." I whip around to him and yell, "why should you care?" His eyes fill with anger and he yells back "have I ever done something to you that showed that I didn't care? Because if that's what you think, then you're a lot more stupid than I thought." With that he turns around and walks out he front door. I stand there confused and frustrated. So I run after him and out the front door, but he is no where to be found. I finally spot him pulling away in his car and I sigh, trying to keep the tears back. I make my way home as slowly as I can, thinking about what happened. Does he seriously care about me? Or is he just trying to mess with me? This has to be some kind of joke. I finally make it to my house and look toward Matts house to see if Mason stopped by there but I don't see his car parked out in front. Since it's Friday, I won't see him for another few days and I can't tell if I am relieved or heart broken. I unlock the door to my house and close the door behind me, sliding my back down the wall as I do. Suddenly Britney appears at the top of the staircase and calls down to me, "Oh, Ali, Mason called" my head perks up, "but I answered it for you and said that you weren't interested and didn't want to speak to him." She finishes. I jump onto my feet, anger flaring up in my chest. "Whoa, chill
there Ali." She says and slams the door to her bedroom shut. I let out a whimper and the tears come streaming out, what the hell have I done.
