When I wasn't expecting that(10 year wedding anniversary)

"I know you, I walked with you once upon a dream
I know you, the gleam in your eyes is so familiar a gleam
Yet I know it's true that visions are seldom all they seem
But if I know you, I know what you'll do
You'll love me at once, the way you did once upon a dreamBut if I know you, I know what you'll do
You'll love me at once
The way you did once upon a dreamI know you, I walked with you once upon a dream
I know you, the gleam in your eyes is so familiar a gleam
And I know it's true that visions are seldom all they seem
But if I know you, I know what you'll do
You'll love me at once, the way you did once upon a dream"I sang quite quietly to Katelyn rocking her in my arms so she would fall asleep. As my third child the process was familiar to me but I still felt the nagging fear of leaving Katelyn that night, I still felt it when I left Rosie, Jake and James but it was worse with Katelyn because she was only two years old. She was my baby. Rosie was eight and she had started whining and moaning when I showed any sign of clinginess towards her and would start asking Rocky to get me to leave her alone. She was such a daddy's girl. But when we watched a sad film like Up she would crawl into my arms and nuzzle into me. James and Jake were five, twins, they were both just adorable. They loved and wanted to spend every minute of every day with me, Rocky and their sisters though I had to be careful with them around Katelyn because there hugs were often abit too strong for her. Katelyn would often stick her arms in the air and scrunch up her tiny hands wanting me, Rocky or one of her elder siblings to hold her hand. Our family was amazing. I loved it more than anything.
"Sometimes I think you should of been a singer." I heard his voice and looked up to see him standing in the doorway of the nursery with a sweet smile.
"God no." I laughed. "I was only singing to her because you were too busy talking to Mark about hockey. I would of got you to do it otherwise, she loves the songs you make up for her." I looked down at her flawless face and heard his footsteps coming closer. He sat down beside me, kissing my head before looking down at her. She wasn't asleep yet so when she saw us both together she reached out her small arms. Rocky took hold of her and kissed her head, humming soothingly.
He stood up and nodded towards the door. "Come on, mum and dad are waiting and we dont want to be late for our reservation."
"Are the kids going to your parents house?" I asked grabbing my bag and following him.
"Yeah, Del and El are still away, they're not getting back till tomorrow so they have Lola too. I think Ry and Maisie might be staying with them too for a while." I looked at him, confused.
"Why?"
"She's almost due and she thinks Ryland is going to freak out when her waters break." He chuckled slightly. "It's their first baby so I guess you can't blame them." He shrugged.
"All of you Lynch men freak out." I muttered shaking my head.
"What do you mean?!" He said defensively.
"When my waters broke with Rosie you cried before we even left the house."
"Yeah but when we had the twins you refused to move off the couch, saying he could just stay in there and when I tried to lift you up you said you'd press charges agaist me for grabbing a pregnant woman." I tried to interrupt him but he didn't let me. "And when you had Katelyn, you told me that we were going to get a divorce and that we'd never have sex again."
"Well, birth is scary and it really hurts. Why dont you try it mister."
"I would, really, but it's genetically impossible." He pulled a face at me.
"Well whatever, but, Delly told me that El was just making fun of her for peeing herself for the first like ten minutes after her water broke and according to Court, Ross genuily almost fainted and was acted more in pain than her."
"Yeah but Ross would do that."
"Ella!" Stormie cheered as I walked into the living room, I walked towards her and hugged her tightly. She pulled away and looked down at me. "You look lovely." She gestured to me quite tight, little black dress and heels, it felt strange actually, I hardly ever had full hair and makeup done anymore, it was nice.
"Still as beautiful as the day I brought her to meet you isn't she." Rocky put his arm around me after handing Katelyn to Mark who was holding her gently.
"She is, you did pick well." His dad commented.
"If anything, I picked him." We all laughed at my comment.
"We need to go." Rocky reminded me and I nodded. I kissed Stormie and Mark on the cheek and then said goodbye to Katelyn, kissing her head and waving.
"Rosie, James, Jakey, we're leaving." I shouted up the stairs. It took hardly any time at all for Rosie to run down the stairs happily, James toddling after her gingerly. Rosie stopped and looked at me, I could tell that she was waiting for me to pull her into a hug or somethinf but I didn't want to encourage the part of her that thought I was overly clingy.
"Are you not going to hug me, mummy?" Her face turned into a pout and her eyes widened, my heart contracted at possibly the cutest thing I had ever seen.
"Of course I am, sweetie." I heard Rocky chuckling behind me as I bent down and she ran into my arms, wrapping her ams around my neck. I lifted her up and span her around as Rocky went over to James. "I'll miss you baby, I wont see you till tomorrow." I told her as I kissed the side of her head.
"I'll miss you too."
I put her down and she spun on her heel running to Rocky, swapping places with James. I knelt down even lower as James fell towards me and began to place sloppy kisses all over my face. His brother following his actions. "Jamesy, Jakey. What are you doing?" I laughed.
"I love you, mummy." I smiled like I always did when I heard those words spoken.
"I love you too." I kissed him before standing up and walking to Rocky by the door. "Have fun at nanny and grandads and be good." I warned playfully.
"Yeah, we love you!" Rocky shouted, they shouted back I love you too's as we left the house and climbed into our car. "We might actually be on time, for once."
"What a miracle." I said sarcastically. Rocky laughed and put his hand on my thigh, slowly running it up and down. He didn't seem to realise he was doing it, it had became a habit over the ten years of their marriage. Ten years.
"I can't believe it's been ten years." He sighed as if he could read my thoughts, maybe he could, it wouldn't her surprised me.
"I know. I can't believe we've had three kids in ten years." I shook my head in a haze of disbelief.
"Hey," he shrugged. "I'm a sex machine. What can I say." I laughed loudly. His humour had never changed and he had never became more serious which I was thankful for. He was still the same person I had fell in love and that doesn't happen in a lot of marriages nowadays.
"Does it scare you?" I asked hesitantly.
"Which?"
"How fast it's gone. I mean I feel we got married yesterday." I sighed loudly as we came into the restaurant parking lot.
"Baby, I love every minute I spend with you and our family." He said turning the engine off and leaning over to me. "And remember that year before our wedding where we were so scared you wouldn't have any time left at all. It may be going quickly but at least we have it."
I moved my face forward to meet his in a kiss and smiled. "And we'll make the most of it."
"Just like we have been doing."
