But it came without fear
A month turned into a year
I wasn't expecting that

(11 Months Later - 1 year anniversary)

Ella

I noticed his car pulling up outside as I looked out of the window; I smiled as I saw him getting out and approaching the door. Checking my appearance one more time I run out of my room and walk down the stairs where I hear the door opening and my dad greet Rocky in the same way he always did, friendly but stern because he still thought that he had to keep up the act that he didn't trust him completely and would beat him up if he broke my heart. I stopped as I listened to Rocky bring up hockey and my dad to get exited and start raving about the latest scores. I then recognised the click of my mum's heels against the wooden floor as she asked Rocky how him and his family were, namely Stormie who she had a long phone call with at least once a week since a few months into mine and Rocky's relationship.

"Ells! You are aware that your boyfriend is here aren't you?" My dad shouted up the stairs and I realised that I had just been standing there for a short while, luckily they couldn't see me.

"Yes, I was just marvelling at your astounding conversational skills." I smiled as I got to the hall and saw my parents standing in front of Rocky, all three of them looking my way.

"There she is." Dad put his arm around me and pulled me into his side which almost caused me to fall over.

"You look lovely, darling." My mum smiled at me adoringly.

"And you two," I looked at both of my parents. "are just as embarrassing as the day Rocky met you." We all laughed as I walked forward, I pressed my hand into Rocky's outstreched one and we stepped out of the house, saying goodbye to my parents as we walked over to his car.

"She's right though, your mum I mean. You do look beautiful." He smiled as we sat down in his car and he started the engine.

"You're wrong, mum said lovely." I joked and he chuckled because he knew that I was joking and we often liked to lightly tease each other in that way.

"It's good you could be described as both then."

I looked out of the window as we began to drive down the familiar street that I had drove down or walked down most days of my life, I just observed in the quiet until Rocky took an unfamiliar turn. "Where are we going?" I asked curiously.

"It's a suprise." He answered bluntly.

"But, I dont know what's down here. I dont think I ever come down here."

"Well." He shrugged with a little smirk. "This is our one year anniversary, it has to be special." I grinned at him because with all of his lovliness it was just impossible not to.

-

"Where are we going?" I laughed trying to concentrate on not falling over which proved more difficult than it should of been as Rocky stood behind me and I could feel his body right against mine, his hands covered my eyes in an attempt to maintain the suprise of the date we were having.

"Be patient, you'll find out in a minute." He chuckled along with me happily. I flinched slightly as sudden noises invaded my senses and I heard laughter, shouts and all sorts of animated noises like you would hear in a cartoon show.

"What the fuck?" He laughed at me comment and my sudden jolt backwards into his body as he stopped me from walking any further and took his hands away from over my eyes. I immediately looked around and saw that we were in an arcade, the lights were bright because of the darkness outside and all of the game machines in there were very retro. I gasped because it was kind of amazing I felt like we had been transported into and old movie and I knew that he had planned this because of the conversations we had had in the last few weeks about vintage style stuff and how much cooler they seemed. The arcade idea was completely amazing though because we had been talking about old game machines as an extra after we watched the friends episode where Pheobe becomes addicted to playing on one. "Oh my god! This is so cool. How did you find this place, I mean we drove for ages!"

"I did some research."

"Just for me?"

He pulled me closer to him. "Just for you." He kissed me quickly. "Now. I have a shit load of quarters, lets go and play some games!" I cheered as we walked hand in hand to the old pacman machine and put the money in, taking turns to have a go at it until both of us had completed it. We went around the arcade and had a go on most of the machines until I saw the grabber machine and pointed to it.

"We need to go on that!"

"Why?" He whined. "They're so annoying."

"Because, Mr, you have never won me a teddy bear and if we are going to make our life like a Nicholas Sparks movie you definately have to." He smiled and agreed pretending to be reluctant about it but I could tell by his eyes that he was happy and determined to win me one of the limted stuffed animals in the machine. After a few goes and a few joky comments from me, Rocky managed to get a Mickey Mouse teddy from the machine and he gave it to me with a wide grin. After we had played on most of the machines we left the arcade with our hands entwined.

"I bet you cant guess where we're going next." I looked at him with a shocked smile.

"There's something else?"

"Yeah, it's a special date remember." We got back into his car and as he drove I tried to work out where we were going but I didn't really recognise the roads especially as it was getting darker. Bright lights came into my vision as we pulled into the parking lot at what seemed like a fair or carnival.

"Oh my god!" I squealed. "You know all I had expected was a dinner in a posh restaurant or something."

"Well, I wanted to do something fun not cliche." He shrugged and I looked at him strangely.

"Dude, carnivals are cliche as fuck." We both laughed together as we got out of the car and started walking towards the entrance.

"There's no ferris wheel so it's fine and I only want us to go on one ride."

"Which one?" As I asked the question he stopped us walking and there we were standing in front of the haunted house ride. I was unsure about going on the ride incase it was really scary but Rocky had hold of my hand and he took us both into it after he had paid for two tickets. It was quite a scary haunted house and there were alot of jump scares that caused me to sit very close to Rocky, he was pleased about that. When we got out of the haunted house we started going to the car as it was starting to rain, only slightly though.

"Thankyou, Rocky." I smiled grabbing his hand and stopping him from going any further as we stood outside of his car. I wrapped my arms around his neck and hugged him nuzzling my face into his neck. "I love you."

"I love you too." He said pulling away from me and pushing some hair out of my face. His eyes were shining and I was sure mine mirrored his. I stood on my tip toes and kissed him slowly. The kiss got more heated, he wrapped his arms around me as I jumped up and wrapped my legs around his waist. That was when it started raining very heavily and in seconds we were drenched.

"Oh my god, it is a Nicholas Sparks movie." I shouted as I pulled away from him, we both started laughing loudly and almost manically as we stood in the rain. I opened the door of his car and pulled him in the back with me where I brought his mouth back to meet mine.

"Are you actually making out with me in a car park in the back of my car?" He asked happily.

"I'm almost twenty and you have to have to makeout in a car when you're a teenager."

"I didn't."

"Well" I pecked his lip quickly. "I guess that means I'm cooler than you then." I giggled as he pulled me back towards him and wrapped his arms around me as our lips met once again.
