The white pick-up truck continued to plough through and over the reawakened deceased bodies of Clifftop High students. Toby was now recovering from the panic he underwent a few moments ago when it came to starting up the vehicle. He kept his sweating palms firmly on the wheel, constantly checking the rear view mirror for any infected. “So the way to Kayleigh's would be up the bypass I am guessing, at least that's the quickest route?” Joe kept mumbling to himself “Please be okay, please be okay...” This was understandable to everyone, and because of the bond that was so tight between them all, they were more concerned for their friends safety then their own parents. Toby began to accelerate up a hill and to everyone's dismay the image they saw was both disturbing and shocking.

Up on the bypass were hundreds of cars, all piled up and deserted. Bodies were strewn from cars from different crashes, these bodies were untouched by the infected despite there being plenty of them around. This, sadly for them was the only way into town...and it wasn't going to be a quick car ride they had all hoped for. The skies were still pouring down a relentless rain storm from the heavens. James stood up in the back of the truck with his hands rested on the vehicles roof “You have got to be kidding me? This day just gets crappier and crappier!” He struck the roof with his hammer in rage and anger. The noise seemed to attract the infected that were dotted around in the area, and though the numbers were few...these ones seemed a lot stronger than the students they saw earlier.

Toby pulled up next to a lorry which had gotten caught up at the tail end of the jam. He opened the sun roof to its full capacity and began to clamber out from the vehicle. “This truck is useless to us now.” he said as he made the jump for the trailer “We will have to continue with jumping roof to roof of the cars.” The others began to follow this idea and they all began to clamber atop the truck's trailer. Sam's knee had healed now to the point where it would inflict slight pain every now and again, but it was mostly fine. He stopped for a second “That's a damn long way to hop to, it's at least a mile long!” A violent breeze began to pick up, almost like the weather was acting on the side of the infected...doing whatever it could to cause chaos.

James wriggled his way up onto the trailer and looked down at the occasional infected that tried to grab him. “I didn't sign up for this today, I have my guitar lesson later!” Callum shook his head and made light of the situation. “I don't think that will go ahead somehow, I mean unless you want your face ripped apart by your teacher?” James smiled at the remark, “He always would bite my head off when I played a piece incorrectly!” Joe jumped down onto a Saxo below, it was shrouded by a mob of the infected all trying to claw his school shoes. “Fuck off!” He hit them in the face with his bag, suddenly the strap broke and his school supplies tumbled down onto the road beneath him. “Bigger fuck!” Toby jumped down and beat them off with the fire extinguisher. Toby joked “Don't worry bro, I don't think you will be in need of your HB pencil for a while”. Joe smiled but remembered he had to stay focused for Kayleigh's sake...they all did.

Crow began to pace around Kayleigh's front room once more, his jacket swaying as he jerked his body to turn. “When did you last speak to those friends of yours Kayleigh?” She scratched the back of her neck and tried to remember around the exact time. “I reckon around 2 o'clock? Why do you ask?” Crow didn't reply, he stopped and stared at the infected that had burst though her garden gate. “Looks like we have company, you might want to ready that blade of yours!” Crow picked up one of the handguns that lay on the table and cocked it, he fired at one of the panes of glass that made up the kitchen window. He continued to unload a whole clip of bullets into the small group of infected. Kayleigh readied her samurai blade that her brother had given her for her birthday two years ago.

The back door of the house was somewhat weaker than the front, and the mob of infected burst their way through and began to enter the kitchen. Moans of death began to fill the air as the plagued beasts drew closer to them. “Kayleigh, time to prove your skills to me!” Crow jumped backward and let Kayleigh loose with her blade on the infected. She carved up their torsos and hacked off their limbs, crow then finished them off with a single blow to the head with his handgun. One of them had drawn close to Crow and as he raised his gun, he realised he was out of ammunition. It opened its jaws and prepared to sink its teeth into Crow's leg but it fell still to the floor...Kayleigh had embedded the blade into its skull.
