Destined to Die
Chapter 5: Something New
I’ve never felt so humiliated in my entire life. I was rejected. I was unwanted. And here I was thinking that I might have a decent life in the pack.
I could literary die of embarrassment right now. Death sounded certainly good right now. At least death wouldn’t be so painful. After death you can’t feel anything and right now not feeling was just about the best thing to do right now.
“Ma’am, are you going to step up to the platform? If not can you please step out of line.” I looked up to be surprised that the line was gone. I thought it would at least take an hour for the line to clear up.
Pack life wasn’t for me. I would never be accepted into the wolf world. I needed to get as far away from wolves as possible. I could never be happy with a wolf in my life. Wolf’s were mean, soulless creatures.
And that was why I was leaving. “Um…yeah. Can I get a one way ticket to Crow Hill?”
“Right away Ma’am.” The man over the counter quickly checked he’s computer. “There is one bus going out at 2am and another going out at-”
“The 2 will be fine.” I snapped back, as if he said the most offending thing in the world.
“Okay, that will be $98.” I quickly pulled out a 100 bill and gave it to him.
I could hear a low chuckle, I looked up outraged. What the hell was funny? “You should lay low for a while. If you spent too much money the police are going to find you.”
I couldn’t help giggle at he’s assumption. “I’ll make sure to do that.” Once he finally offered me my ticket, I quickly grabbed it and rushed out to wait for my bus.
Laughing felt weird. Maybe if I still had a heart it wouldn’t feel so weird.
My heart was taking it really oddly. It was like it was rejecting everything, I felt nothing. Well this was somewhat better, not feeling was better than being torn apart.
How could someone cause this dullness? This unwillingness to feel? I thought mates were supposed to complete you, not tear your soul apart. Even thinking of him made my heart grow weary.
I could just imagine myself in 20 years, with all my cats. Passing the days along until I die, or my cats eat me in my sleep, whatever came first.
Love was no more a possibility for me.
All I could do now was sit here and wait to leave this hellhole I once called home. The pain of this place was too much. I just couldn’t bear seeing him again. I never wanted to see he’s face again.
This place was just a breeding place of bad things.
Leaving seemed like the easiest thing to do. Everything was packed already, for my trip to Spain. So my leaving bag just turned into my running bag. I already had a lot of money in the bank. I’ve been saving up since I was 14, for what was supposed to be the most amazing time in my life.
I was ready to leave, and I wasn’t going to look back.
I sighed in dismay when the time was still the same after what felt like 5 minutes. I wonder if I had enough time to get a hotdog before I left.
My stomach growled in agreement.
I pulled my hoodie over my head and went into invisible mode. If anyone saw me they would go to the Alpha. The alpha would tell Jesse. And Jesse would drag my ass home. I would be a huge disappoint to he’s families name.
