Destined to Die

8. The Dorcha Pack

Okay, that was it I was dead. I wonder how they would say my cause of death. 'She dead doing what she loved best, running.'

"Are you going to take my hand or are you going to keep looking at me with those beautiful green eyes?" Good to know my death would be coming from a player.

I dragged myself way from him with my arms. That was enough to make my body cry in pain.

Guess this is the way in was going to die.

"Please take my hand, it's starting to cramp up."

I gave him a strong head shake no, it was the only thing I could move without dying in pain.

"I just can't leave a girl here defenseless, by the looks of your legs you've been running. You look like someone just dragged you though this forest."

I glared at him with crazy eye, of course I was running. I was running away from him.

"I'm not a rouge, I'm here helping your pack. I'm from a pack near by...I could bring you back-"

Before he could finish he's sentence I was shaking my head violently. "NO you can't do that!"

"Okay....Okay I get it. Your running away, your using the attack as a cover..."

I would argue with him, but I was physically exhausted. I felt like I couldn't take another step.

"I get it." He took a long sigh and he's eyes fell from mine. "If it's okay let me take you some where far..."

I was ready to decline he's offer. But was in going to get any better than this?

I was dead, I couldn't take a step closer to the road.

How was I suppose to get away from here if I didn't take he's hand...

"Listen to me, you can trust me. I'm the Alpha of the Dorcha Pack down south. I'll just take you there until you are back on your feet. Please let me help you."

He pushed he's hand a little closer to my face. I could lick it If I'd like.

Sucking in all my morals, I took he's hand

The soothing purr of he's car made me feel even weirder. I was taking a ride with a stranger. How could possibly be my killer.

"You can relax, I'm not a creep. I'm actually taking to my pack house."

I took a quick glance at him to find he was looking at me. My gaze swiftly returned back to the road.

Once felt he's stare return to the road I got a better look at him.

He had messy blond hair with beautiful blue eyes.

My heart cracked in pain when those eyes reminded me of him.

"Can I get a name?"

"Meredith." My voice was just a whisper but I knew he could hear me.

I could see a crocked smile spread throughout he's face. "There she is." He sounded like he just found a cure for cancer.

Ten full minutes passed without a word being said. I wanted to open my mouth and break the sweet silence. But every time I opened my mouth nothing came out.

"Why were you running away?" He's low curious voice finally asked the question that was looming over our heads.

I took a deep breath, guess I had to tell him. "That place was just killing me..." I wasn't really lying to him. That place was poison.

He nodded understandingly. "Aren't your Cunning going to worry about you?" This guy was filled with questions.

"No my parents aren't going to miss me. They died. In a car crash when I was 13..."

Another blanket of silence fell over us.

"I'm sorry."

"Don't, it isn't your fault that they died."

"Yeah, but I shouldn't have asked..."

"No, no you have a right to know." I let out a little humorless laugh out. "You are my night is shining amour."

He let out a little chuckle that shook the frame of the car.

The endless silence was on us once more. He cracked up the radio, knowing I didn't want to talk. At least this guy could read moods...

I tried my best not to sleep. I silently tapped my foot on the flooor of the car, an idiotic attempt to keep myself awake.

"You can sleep, you do know that." I was a little taken back he knew what I was trying to do. "I  will  Not  Hurt  you..." The last part was almost a whisper, but it was still effective. "I  give  you  my  word."

After a solid 5 minutes of staring at he's determined experission, my body finally relaxed. I still fought every urge to let my eyes drop, even though my body was pretty set on sleeping.

I let out a sigh of surrenderance, and finally let my eye lids fall.
