Destined to Die

Chapter 12: Alpha

Two Months ago

Mason's POV

My body was still hacked up on pure adrenaline. The pounding pains of my hand just added flame to the fire.

Who the hell did that guy think he was? Talking about her like she was nothing but an inconvenience to the world. Did he have a death wish? He was literally screaming 'KILL ME'. He was talking about her, in front of her mate? Didn't he have the common courtesy to talk about her when her mate isn't in hearing range?

She would always be mine.No matter what happened.

“What the hell was that?” A tiny shrill voice brought me back to the small kitchen. Sighing, I put up my best blank face. Waiting for the scream that were sure to happen.“I had to be pulled out of work for this. Just what were you thinking?” Her eyes stared up at me, expecting an answer.

After stare downbetween her and the to of my head, she finally submitted and put her tiny little fingers to her head. “You can't keep on doing this....we moved here to start over again, you know that. You know your father and I have been trying really hard to make this work, but you have to meet us half way. We cannot do this alone. I know these wolf hormones are messing you up, but...” Her tired words slowly started to turn into defeated mumbles.

The exhaustiveness of her voice almost made me feel bad for bashing one of Jesse's minions face in.

Her tiny head fell back into her small fingers. And her mumbles started to turn into outraged growls. “We can't keep on doing this Mason, you can't keep on getting into these fights.”

“It wasn't my fault...” I said stubbornly, I wasn't the guilty party here.

She glared at me like I hadn't listened to her speech. After what seemed like an eternity of her waiting for a promise, but after five minutes of silence, she left the tense battle field waving her white flag.

The noise of the kettle rang throughout the house. Just a pretense to call my dad, I felt my expressionless face turn back into the murderous glare.

Great, now I was going to get Mr. Alpha of the house on my case.

They just didn't understand, I just can't watch everyone trashes on the weak run away.

'Did you hear they are still looking for Jesse's charity case?” The words kept bouncing in my head. “If you ask me they should move on from that abomination and focus on the important things” All I could remember from there being overpowered by the redness.

Letting a sigh slip my mind. It's been a months since she left...it's been a month since my Meredith ran away.

I couldn't help but feel pathetic. I've been here looking mindlessly for her, and there was the one reason she left. Me. And all I've been doing is stuffing my head in a filthy sweatshirt that had the tiniest bit of her scent on.

Now I was the creepy guy who 'randomly beats the shit out of people'.

This wasn't even thought out well, if I did get her back? What the hell was I going to say? What if I actually had the slightest chance to see those beautiful auburn curls? What idiotic excuse would I tell her to make up for all of this?

All I knew was that I was in some deep shit.

“Where are you going?” A shrill voice rang.
