Destined to Die
Chapter 6: Alex
My heart was in my throat, when I saw he’s big build. It was unmistakable; he’s dirty blond hair gave him away.
Jesse was here. And he was here for me.
I was going to get caught. It was basically a fact now. There was no way I could get away from him. He would drag me back, and force me to go one with life as if nothing happened.
He was going to have a 24-7 look out for me, making sure I’d never leave this hell until I was 18.
He was with two other big guys with foul expressions on their face. They looked dirt tired. This search plan was out of hand. I recognized the smaller one of them from Chem, and the other was no doubt Marcus from English.
Shit couldn’t get worse from here, could it?
I pulled my hoodie up, and hugged my legs, making myself look as small as possible. If they don’t see me, they can’t drag me back.
I winced at the scent that hit me; it felt like someone splashed me with a bucket of freezing water. All I could smell was him. I never took off he’s hoodie; it wasn’t really the biggest of my problems. I never had a chance to give it back to him; I stormed out of that house, brought my lightest bag and came here straight.
I felt a storm of depression stir in my stomach. Wearing this was killing me…
Pushing down all the emotion from today, I slowly turned to see my warden.
I took in a breath of surprise when I saw him talking to the jerk at the counter; he was the one who snitched on me. I should have known he was a shifter; he certainly had the looks for one. The old man didn’t leave because he’s shift was over, Jesse must have replaced people where he thought I’d go.
My heart almost stopped beating when the jerk pointed to where I was sitting. And my heart doubled in speed when three icy glares landed on me. Shit, they found me…
“Mere.” I wanted to get up and bolt into the woods, and run as fast as I could. But my legs were frozen in place.
All three took lengthy steps to me. Well here we go… “What?” I hated that I sounded utterly terrified.
Jess’s icy eye turned into an inferno, to say he was piss was the understatement of the century. “‘What?’ is all you have to say?!” I winced at he’s harsh voice, but that didn’t stop him from going on. “After the whole night looking for you all you have to say is what!”
“Okay jeez…hi.” I could hear a light chuckle from the guy on Jess’s left, the guy from Chem.
Jess’s looked at him with he’s fury gaze. The guy turned he’s light laugh into a cough. “If you know what’s good for you, you should keep quiet.” The guy from Chem obviously directed that to me.
Jesse took a deep breath, before directing he’s glare back to me. “Why are you here?” Jess spoke with a calm voice.
I opened my mouth about to answer he’s question with a snarky remark. But the second I opened my mouth I was at a loss of words. “Isn’t obvious? She’s running away. She’s going to go rouge.” I gave Marcus the nastiest glare in the world. Ass.
“I can’t go rouge, I’m human.” I hissed in he’s direction. To that he gave me a warning growl. Was that supposed to make him look scary?
He turned to Marcus with a shut up face. “I want to hear it from her.” He turned to me and stared at me, I felt like he was looking right through me.
