Chapter Eight – Never Walk Out
Arianna's POV
"Lacy, I swear if you don't stop moving I'm going to cut you," I groaned as Lacy tried to squirm out of my grasp.
"Why can't we do this later? I want to play Candy Land," She whined.
"Your competition is tomorrow and Elise needs to get these last few photos done," I said, making her stand still. I finished cutting off the final strings and patter her on the back. "Go into the studio, Elise has everything set up," I smacked her bum and she ran off in the direction I sent her.
Elise and Lacy had been driving me crazy with trying to get everything done for the pageant and getting the last minuet photos chosen. Lacy was jumping around everywhere because she was so excited but she didn't want to work much. All she wanted to do was play Candy Land, thanks to her little pageant friend, Kaiden for showing the game to her.
After putting everything away, I headed in after Lacy to see Elise taking pictures of the little girl. She posed proudly and twirled like a princess in her sparkly pink dress. At least she was actually doing what Elise had asked of her.
I sat in the corner of the room watching as Elise continued to snap photos of my sister. I began dazing off into my own world as the familiar tune of One Thing floated through the small speakers just on the other side of the room.
Harry had been in the studio a lot the past week. The band was working on their new album which meant Harry had to be in the studio just about everyday. I didn't mind too much as I was busy with Lacy's pageant and Uni, which was killing my ass because finals were in a month. Harry and I still talked, texting frequently throughout the day, sending each other silly photos. Around ten every night he would call me and ask me how my day went. I loved talking to him because he would always listen. He would always seem interested in what I had to say no matter how boring my life seemed. Even though we talked all day, he and I still managed to have something to talk about at night. Luckily, the girls hadn't found out about Harry, as I was still trying to come up with a way to tell them.
I told Harry about Lacy's pageant and he seemed intrigued, asking if he could come and I only agreed because I knew my room mates were having classes during that time. They took day time classes, whilst I took mostly night time classes. I hated waking up early and I was a night owl anyway.
I knew Lacy was going to find out about Harry eventually. I didn't think I could have kept him from her. She was my sister and I didn't keep anything from her. I still felt horrible for holding it all to myself as long as I had but I couldn't help but think it was for the best.
A knock on the door from outside the studio brought me back into reality as I stood up to answer it. From behind, I could her Kaiden's energetic childish voice waiting impatiently. As soon as the door was cracked open, he slipped his head inside, peering up at me with a gigantic smile.
“Hi, Ari!” he exclaimed, pushing further through the opening and jumping into my arms. Charlotte followed behind him, closing the door upon entering the room and I greeted her with a smile of my own.
“Hey, Kaiden! Lacy is just finishing up in the studio with Elise. If you want to go change into your tanning clothes, I'll have her meet you and Charlotte in the showers once she's completely finished. Does that sound like a plan?” He nodded, struggling to get his feet back on the floor. I set him down and watched as he grabbed his navy blue duffel bag from Charlotte's hands and ran off into the bathroom.
