Chapter Five

"I dont know what to do man..."

"Just forget about her. Find some other chick."

"But I actually...just never mind I'll talk to you later"

"Alright, bye.."

I pushed "End Call" and placed my phone on the glass table. I groaned out loud and rested my hands on my forehead. "Maybe it is time I get over it, I mean it was just an accident" I said to no one. I looked down at my watch and saw that it was 9:07 am. Visiting hours began at 9:15 and it took about thirty minutes to get there, so I decided to leave now. I was already dressed so I grabbed my jacket and shoes. I walked outside and it was actually pretty sunny. I could tell it was raining earlier due to the wet grass and wet spots on the sidewalk.

I walked over to my car and started it up. I backed out my space and just as I was about to drive off when I heard a high pitched voice call out my name. I groaned and hit the brakes. "Abel, Abel, babe wait." There was a lous tapping on the window of the passenger seat and I reluctantly slid the window down and was greeted by Diana. Every since that day Val caught me and her kissing, she has been calling, texting, tweeting and instgraming me non-stop.

"Hey Di." I said with a fake smile. "Hey babe" she replied and added a wink that looked more liek a twitch. "Where ya headed?" "Um..", I didn't want her to know where I was going so I quickly made up a lie. "I'm just making a quick run to the store. I'll be back in 20." "Oh, ok. Well in that case I'll just wait here for you, hurry back." She left the open window and hurried over to the sidewalk. She had a tight pencil skirt and heels on so she pretty awkward running/jogging to my loft. I rolled up the window and shuddered slightly from her stalkerish ways. I pushed my foot on the gas and sped down all they way to the hospital. I wasn't really in a rush and luckily there was no traffic so I got there by 9:35.

I parked in the visitor area and entered the building. I checked in at the desk and headed to her room. As I was walking down the hallway, I caught a glimpse of myself. My face looked rough and unshaven. My eyes had bags and looked empty. I stared at my reflection for a few seconds and then snapped back into reality.

I continued to walk to her room and I saw the door was already open. I slowly entered and there was another person there. She, Im guessing it was a female because they had long hair, was sitting one of the chairs next to Val's bed. Val was deep asleep and looked at rest.

I cleared my throat to announce my presence. The mystery person in the chair turned around and I immediately recognized her as Val's sister. Her sister was a beautiful one. She is actually a make up model and has her own clothes line. Her name is Amanda and me and her never quite got along.

"Hey Amanda" I said in a low voice. "Hello, Abel" she said. Her words were full if venom and her voice was sharp. I slowly walked over to the other empty chair and took a seat. "I can't believe this" she said. Her face was down and she talked to the floor.

From the dim light provided by the sun that was shining though the shades, I could see her eyes were red and her face looked blotchy. Her clothes looked rumpled and her was in a very sloppy updo.

"I'm sorry. If it weren't for me, she wouldn't be here." I was looking dead at her but she didn't look up. "You're damn right. I always knew you were trouble but she would t listen to me." She kept her head down but on the last word she looked up. My eye were still on her face and were soon met with hers. Her dark brown eyes pierced in my soul and she somehow made me feel more pain then I already did.

I had no words to say to her so I just stared. "What? They link had nothing to say now?! I come here All they way from California to tell my sister about the passing of our father and instead I come to THIS!?!". She pointed to her sisters still body.
