Chapter ten
My weekend started off slow leaving me with no plans for Friday after an abrupt ditch from Hope. Apparently she didn’t have money to see the movie we planned to see, but really I think she just wanted me to pay her in, because she knows that if I want to go somewhere bad enough I’ll pay her in. Nope, not this time! So I was just sitting in my bedroom watching Austin and Ally, which is a fantastic show. Never diss on Disney Channel. Ever. I’ll probably be fifty and still be watching this shit, but when I say shit I mean the good kind; if that makes sense at all.
I kept focusing on the sexy ginger haired boy in the show and getting the feels for my ship between him and Trish in the show. My thoughts kept revolving around the phrase “WHY YOU NO GO CANON”. See, this is why I need to go out on the weekends, because leaving me by myself for too long can be dangerous, and just plain weird. My disgusting un-smart phone buzzed and I turned around to face the glowing screen. I squinted my eyes from the blinding white light in the dark, and opened the message. The first thing I saw was that pesky Slender Man symbol and then underneath it in big capital letters read:
“FORWARD, FORWARD, FORWARD! Abigail Grace saw this message two years ago, and didn’t forward it. That night her mother came in and never saw her again; only to find to this symbol plastered on every wall in her bedroom with vomit on the floor, and drawing of the Slenderman on several pieces of paper. Scrawled writing that said various help messages and pleas were scribbled onto several pieces of papers. Cops could never pick up a trail or even find a single clue to decipher what happened to Abigail Grace. Now Slenderman is watching you and if you don’t forward this to ten people in your contacts, he’ll get you tonight!”
I groaned and rolled my eyes. Chain mail was so idiotic. I couldn’t believe people were already making forwards about this. Slenderman was really getting on my nerves, half because I was embarrassed about falling in class, and Slenderman really wasn’t helping everyone forget about that, and second because it was starting to get everywhere. Just like when you hear a song on the radio you’re always like; yeah this is such a great song! And then a week goes by of nonstop playing and you find yourself switching the radio station to avoid it. I closed the message and rolled back over to change the channel since the show had ended. I hated how the shows were only thirty minutes long. I flipped through the channels when I immediately jumped back in surprise and shock at the sudden outburst of static from the television.
The screen had gone grey with static and white noise blared from the speaker. My volume on my television began to kick up to higher notches to the point where I was covering my eardrums. “Turn that fucking down!” I heard my dad shout through gritted teeth from his bedroom. I scrambled to the remote and hit the power button multiple times. The power ceased to disengage from the T.V. I heard stomping across the living room and through the kitchen and my heart began to pound. I ran over to the T.V. and hit the power button relentlessly for it to shut off. It was three in the morning and I really didn’t want to see my dad like this. My door slammed open to reveal a red fat faced man who happened to be my father. “I told you to turn that fucking thing off! Why is it still on! Turn it off now! It’s fucking three in the morning you don’t need to be up, and what the hell were you fucking thinking turning the volume up like that! Your mother is sleeping!” He shouted as he pushed me into the wall and threw the remote at my head. Tears were streaming down my face in rage.
“It won’t f-f-freaking turn off! Jesus Christ you psycho!” I screamed at the top of my lungs holding back the ‘F’ word. I began clicking the button again to prove my point and went over to the screen and pressed power over and over. The television didn’t shut off. My dad stomped over to the outlet knocking over my chair and my trashcan as he went by.
