Chapter Twenty-nine

We hopped the fence into the track and began plunging through the thick snow making footprints. It was freezing and eventually when we got around to them, we took shelter underneath the bleachers. I told him about what Gabby called and said. “She’s dead.” He bluntly said. Same old Micah. I pursed my lips together.

“Probably…” I murmured. “So, are we going to check it out?” I asked as I swung back and forth from one of the metal supports.

“Of course, but not anytime soon. We have to go through the ark more, find out more information; my calculations aren’t complete enough to enter the heart. Also I have to teach you all about Slendy. So we’re going to have to crack open the journal for you to read. It’s a lot more than just a bunch of kids walking around the woods at night with flashlights. There’s a lot of science and other stuff.” He told me as he paced around.

“And how do we just go through the ark?” I asked raising my eyebrows. He stopped pacing and looked at me.
“I might know a thing or two.” He reminded me. I laughed and rolled my eyes.

“I know.” I said.

“Well I’ve found a few hot spots to the ark. There’s like a twenty-five to fifty percent chance we’ll gain access to it while we’re there. And we probably should listen to Gabby’s advice and stay clear away from rakes. Those are no bueno.” He said clapping his hands together smiling.

“Rakes?” I asked.

“Can I come over?” He asked.

“Uh, sure I’ll ask. But uh?” I forwarded on my question.

“If I come over I’ll bring my stuff and show you.” He said frustrated with a wave of his wrist. “You’re such a noob to the Slendy lifestyle.” He sighed into his hands.

“Sorry.” I said sarcastically.

“I will teach you young grasshopper.” He told me putting his hands together like a sensei.

“Right…” I said raising a questioning eyebrow. I pulled out my Iphone from my back pocket and called mom. It rang once…twice… “Hey mom!” I chirped.

“Hi.” She replied.

“Can Micah come home with me when you come pick us, I mean me, up?” I asked quickly.

“So that’s why you wanted to go to the library.” She said.

“No! He just happened to be here with his mom to get some stuff out of her classroom. She left him to chill with me in the library. So can he?” I lied and then changed the subject.

“I don’t care.” She replied.

“Okay, sweet diggity. Bye.” I said hanging up. “All’s good in the neighborhood.” I assured him.

“Nice, now let’s go inside. My balls have concaved.” He told me walking ahead of me towards the building.

“How lovely…” I murmured.

“So what have you been doing since we last parted?” I asked him sitting at a table in the library.

“Tons of stuff. Oh Cece, always so conceited, you leaving didn’t change my hunting plans at all. I’ve been doing a lot of searching around that train tunnel, even managed to find and follow Masky around some before I would lose him, she, it, and I have a shit ton of research finished in the journals.” He bragged with a sly grin.
