Chapter Seventeen

My eyes were caked with crust from a variety of crying and being up all night. I watched the rest of all the Marble Hornets videos. I know they were just AVG’s, but every story has some truth behind it… So basically Marble Hornets is a Youtube channel that was designed for a movie these group of college kids were producing, but that changed when weird stuff began happening to their friend Alex and he mysteriously left without telling anyone about it.

So later the main guy, Jay, finds some weird stuff on the tapes they were filming with for Marble Hornets, and a bunch of other tapes of Alex’s. They all lead back to Alex being stalked by Slenderman as well as some of his other friends and then Jay begins to be stalked as well. It was still an ongoing series and I needed to know what happens. Theories danced around my brain and even though it was four A.M I began googling things based upon Marble Hornets. I read the whole Wiki page and then I found myself on the Slender Wikia page again. I logged in quickly and found I had an inbox message. I clicked on the little chat bubble icon and opened my inbox.

&%$#@: I see you

A shiver ran down my spine and I exited of the chat and closed my laptop. My eyes came down like a semi as soon as my head touched the pillow. I had about two full hours of sleep and then I was back in school.

Lucas had his head cradled in his hands first hour. I crawled up next to him in the seat. His skin was paler than usual still and his fingernails were thin and weak looking; tinted a little yellow too. I noticed him whispering un-acknowledgeable things to me…or himself. I slowly slipped my hand on his shoulder and he flinched falling onto the concrete steps right next to his seat. He shook his head and crawled back up onto the chair noticing my shocked expression.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t even notice you.” He said forcing a smile. I forced one back to him not looking in his eyes.

“What’s wrong?” I asked seriously bringing my face to his. His eyes grew wide and scared. He shook his head violently.

“Not here. Not now.” He whispered. I saw sweat drip from the corner of his temple.

“Lucas… I think you need to go to the nurse; better yet, home.” I worriedly and nervously said.

“I…can’t. I feel safe here.” He stammered holding his head and gritting his teeth. “I just have a headache that’s all. You know how I am when I get these.” He grunted in pain. My brow furrowed in worry and I nodded pulling out my book to read, but staying close to him for comfort.

Second hour couldn’t have come quicker. I rushed into the seat next to Micah who was moving around pictures on his yearbook page. “What can I do to help him?” I asked urgently but in a whisper.

“Nothing.” Micah blandly replied as if I should have already known so.

“What do you mean nothing? No rituals or chants or anything?” I asked in a worried voice mixed with annoyance.

“Slender isn’t a ghost Cece. He’s an unknown entity.” Micah replied pointedly. I shook my head in anger at how reclusive he was being and how he didn’t even care that my friend was sick.

“Kay.” I murmured and picked up my stuff to move by Hunter.

I walked down the hallway with my binder that was no longer organized anymore. It was now extremely heavy and crammed with papers. Loud coughing entered my ears and I turned around to see Lucas heaving in a coughing fit. I walked over to him quickly. “You need to go home Lucas. Or sit in the nurses office or something.” I demanded. He shook his head.
