I lost my virginity today. I can't really put into words how it felt because I don't really remember. The guys and I had gone to Frappo, the local pub in town for drinks after a hard day at work. I had been skeptical at first but after my second dared shot of blue rocks, I was already on cloud nine. I was never a drinker so I didn't know my limit until then. The others, Antoine included laughed hysterically at me but I was too giddy to take offence. Then they begun talking about women and how they were going to get some tonight. That brought the question of my chastity. I don't remember being mocked so much in my life. These guys made it their mission to get me devirginised that night and it seemed to have worked. I was too wasted to remember anything from that point but I woke up to a killer headache and a sleeping naked woman next to me. I wanted to panick but my headache was too much to give me that liberty. Maya chose that moment to burst through my door. She clearly wasn't happy with what she saw and threw a disapproving look before walking out. I sent the girl away without so much as a see you later. Heck I don't even remember her name but I'm sure whatever happened was amazing because she hoped for a next time. When that'll happen, I don't know but at least I know my journey has really begun.

She had mastered the art of being attentive without actually paying attention so it was no surprise her client droned on and on about her problems. She was sure it was him that day. She couldn't have been mistaken or could she? It'd already been a week and there was no traces of him. He hadn't contacted her or anything."Okay, Eva. You just need to continue the routine I recommended and please remember to take your doses. When you feel suffocated, just remember what I said..." she said after she was sure Eva was done talking.
"I'm perfect no matter what. Thanks Robyn" the redhead beauty offered.
"You're welcome so I will see you next week."
"Okay...and oh your book is just great. I got a copy the very next morning and can't seem to put it down since then"
She offered a smile and thanked her last client for the day. She escorted her to the door and walked back to her desk, placing the file she had in the safe she kept all her clients' files in. Riley chose that moment to burst through her door.
"She seems better..." she said referring to Eva.
Robyn leaned back in her chair and sighed, "Yeah, I hope so too."
"You look tired..."
"A little. Anyway did you reach the hospital?"
"Yeah..." they exchanged information and soon Riley retired for the night leaving her alone in the office. It was now 7:15 pm and she decided to catch up on some reading instead of going the house.
She heard shuffling outside her door which caused her to look up from her dissertation. She thought nothing of it and looked at the time instead. It was already 10:30 pm. She decided to spend an hour more before she returned home and went back to her reading. Just then, the shuffling got louder and clearer causing her go alert and on defense.
"Hello! Is anyone there?" she called out reaching for the gun she kept in her bottom drawer, the perks of being the daughter of a policeman. She gently stood, walked to the door and grabbed the handle gently pushing it open. She kept the gun steady in her hand and walked into the dimly lit hallway. She saw no one and everything was suddenly quiet. She must be going crazy, she bemused and went back into her office. She dropped the gun on her desk and laid her head back on the chair, her mind wondering about Mason. She was admittedly scared. His return, she feared, was going to cause more harm than good especially if he came to make good on his promise and she just couldn't deal with anymore drama in her life. Her phone begun ringing making her search diligently for it. The caller id showed it was the one person she didn't want to hear from, her husband. She answered anyway and listened to him with half a mind. As ususal, he called to command her. She sighed with relief when he hung up however she was still scared of what he might do if she disobeyed so she returned the gun to its previous place, grabbed her bag and her manila file then left the office locking up behind her. She walked the short distance to her car, got in and drove off.
Mason watched until her car disappeared around the curb before walking down the street kicking a can in his way. This had been his daily routine since he returned a week before. He'd been imagining this moment for four years however all he did was hover around places she was and never gathering the courage to approach her. It was stupid, yes, but that was he was going to do for now. His steps led him to the shelter where he spent most of his time since he returned. A sweet aroma wafted through the air as soon as he entered causing a grin to spread across his face and a low grumble in his stomach. He entered the makeshift kitchen at the back and chuckled at the sight he beheld, Tucker in a pink What's cooking apron.
"You look cute in that." he teased as he pulled out a chair and sat down.
The older man who's grey hair was becoming more prominent smiled sheepishly, "Yeah, it belonged to May"
"She must've been cute in it"
"Yes, she was." he replied placing a bowl of ribs soup and mashed potatoes on the table. Mason gratefully thanked him and begun eating. "So did you talk to her today?"
He shook his head knowing the expression on his face without bothering to look up. "She was busy..."
"You said that yesterday and the day before and the..."
"I get your point, Tucker" he irritably interjected.
"Then why are we still talking about it?"
"Well technically I didn't bring it up,you did!"
Tucker scoffed and drank the last remnants of his soup. There was no talking sense into the boy. It made him wonder why he even tried. Without a word, he grabbed his bowl and walked to the sink. Mason knew he was annoyed but he refused to apologize. Instead, he dropped his bowl in the sink and stormed off to the room they kept the animals in. He stopped in front of the cage of Juno, his favourite labrador who barked with excitement when it saw him. He was met with a happy leap when he opened the door and it was a sight to behold, man and beast sharing such a strong bond. Mason led him out the door and they sort refuge on the staircase out front.
"Huh...Juno. I must be crazy, right?" he begun after awhile rubbing his neck and head. Juno barked in response causing him to chuckle. "So you think so too..." Their conversation which consisted of sentences and barks went on for a moment longer and by the time they returned inside, Mason had his mind made up. His time had really finally come and he was going to make sure nothing or no one stopped him.
