Two Reflections (Alren)

Chapter 2

I was tossing. It's not a secret that I suffer from insomnia. I never knew why but I guess I just can't switch off my brain. My thoughts are always there, one thought leads to another and in the quietness of night is when they assault my mind.

I woke up to grab a bottle of water and checked my phone.

"Is everything ok? Ally asked turning one light on. Great! first night being roommates and the poor girl can't sleep because of me.

"Yeah...I just wanted some water. Sorry I woke you"

"You've been awake for a while. Have you even fallen asleep yet?" She asked sitting up on her bed.

"Nope. I'm sorry I promise I would not make any noise" I said coming back to my bed.

"Don't worry. What's on your mind?"

"Everything. If you only knew" I chuckled. "I'm sorry you have to deal with this. I'm just a mess"

"You can talk to me if you want to" She smiled gently at me.

"You know....it's just I'm trying to adapt to my new bed" I said not wanting to bother her.

She uncovered the bed and made a gesture with her head indicating me to get in her bed.

"Ally, it's fine...I'll just listen to some music"

I don't know her at all, you know? And though it didn't seem a bad idea to lay with her I'm just a little distant when I first meet people. Maybe the correct word it's mistrustful, but you can't blame me, there's many people that can't be trusted in this crazy world.

"I'm not gonna eat you" She said joking; obviously she said it innocently as everything she does.

"You wish!" I said doing some sexual reference while I chuckle.

"What?" Ally asked out of clue.

"You know....you're inviting me to your bed....and that sounded....so....so dirty" I couldn't help but continue laughing but then I realized I was talking to Ally, so I quickly apologized for my sloppiness.

"Sorry, I'm just....I just like to joke....sometimes inappropriately" I blushed hard cause I saw her blushing too. It's not that I have to apologize for who I am, I never did; but I guess I shouldn't make her uncomfortable with my full mouth.

"I'm sorry Ally, I'll watch my mouth. You don't need to freak out. Goodnight anyway" I said sitting up in my bed.

"Thought you were gonna lain with me" Ally said smiling at me. "It's fine Lauren. I'm just not used to those kinds of jokes, but I'm not gonna keep myself away from you because of that."

Well, that was a shocker. This girl never ceases to amaze me. Just when I thought I messed up with my sinful mouth she just accepts me for who I am.

I got in bed next to her.

"Great!" She gave me a sweet smile. "So are you gonna tell me about your thoughts?" She asked me curiously.

"After what I said, do you wanna know more?" I raised my eyebrow and she nodded giggling.

"I guess there's more in your mind than dirty stuff"

"I guess" I shrugged. "Why do you wanna know?"

"Cause I wanna be your friend" She said looking at me with her tender eyes.

"No offense, you are so sweet and stuff, but do you just wanna befriend everybody? It's that a church thing or it's just because I'm your roommate?" I asked her being as honest as I usually am.
