6. Prevalence Of Fitnah (Turmoil of all kinds):
The word 'Fitnah' means trial and tribulation and is used to refer those things which are not liked in the faith. It is one of the signs that is happening recently and the present condition of the Muslims need to be analysed in correct historical perspective. These tribulations can cause the man to change so much in a single day. We can find ourselves surrounded by all kinds of turmoil.
a. The fitnah of looking at forbidden things that we see on internet, social media and satellite channels. For example, naked women appearing on the front page of magazines. People send awful and transmit prohibited images and video clips on mobile phones. These are the trials and afflictions which if one avoids out of fear of Allah Ta'ala and respect for Him and consider these trials as a test, Allah will grant him with great blessings upon him.
b. The fitnah of unlawful wealth, such as riba i.e loan-sharking, bribes, selling prohibited goods such as drugs, alcohols, forbidden clothes etc.
c. The fitnah of impermissible clothing, whether worn by men or women. Is not its obnoxious that the fashion trend nowadays where men wear clothes of women and women wear clothes of men. It makes me feel so nauseous.
d. People falling into great amount of fitnah, until the one is pious and pure becomes a stranger among them.
The Prophet (S.A.W) spoke to the great tribulations which would happen and dazzle the true Muslim. Each time a new fitnah comes, the believer will say "This will be my doom." For a while it would appear, and then disappear, and another shall appear.
Abu Hurayrah (R.A) narrated that the Prophet (S.A.W) said:
"Hasten to perform good deeds before the emergence of the turmoil like the pieces of the black night; a man will be a believer in the morning and a disbeliever by the evening or, he will be disbeliever in the morning and a believer by the evening; he will sell his religion for worldly gain..."
7. The Emergence Of The Khwaarij:
They are known as one of the most deviant sects believe to be the group from Iraq. The personality and the spirit of Khwaarij is unique. They are a group of sect of devoted people who broke away from Hazrat Ali's (R.A) rank. They were considered those who disagreed with Hazrat Ali (R.A) decision over disagreement to accept a third party arbitration with Muaawiyah (R.A) who rose up as a claimant to Khilafah.
Belief of the Khwaarij:
a. They regard someone who drinks alcohol and commits major sin as a disbeliever and shall remain in Hell forever. This is certainly wrong. He just becomes a disobedient evildoer who has to repent.
b. They regard Hazart Ali (R.A) and Hazrat Muaawiyah (R.A) and may of the companions as disbelievers.
c. Rebelling against unjust rulers concerning whom there is no proof that they fallen into disbelief.
d. Claim to have knowledge, striving hard for worship, but are completely unaware of the rulings of the Holy Qura'an. One of them was Dhul-Khuwaysirah of whom Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W) said:
"They will pass out of Islam as the arrow passes out of the prey..." (Agreed upon)
It was narrated by Abdullah-ibn-Masood (R.A) that the Prophet (S.A.W) once said:
"At the end of the time there will emerge a people who will be young in age and foolish; they will recite the Qura'an but it will go no further than their collarbones. They will quote the words of the best of mankind, but they will pass out of Islam as the arrow passes out of the prey..." (Agreed upon)
