Chapter 6

"So are you staying at a hotel tonight?" asked Claire

I nodded

"Well at least you get to go to a hotel, breakfast is free, right?" asked Maya

"Oh my god! There she is!" some girls pointed towards me

"What the fuck are all staring at?!? Huh!" snapped Maya

"Is that Newt thing still going on?" I frowned

"What? No! Why? Didn't you see the news? The reporter said that there was a mild earthquake of 2.0 and your house seemed the only house that got damaged" Maya shrugged

"What?! Why didn't you tell me early?" I whined

"Sorry! I thought you knew" she shrugged

"Hey, guys? Someone's taking a picture of us" Claire pointed towards the lady with sunglasses, a blanket covering her hair, and a camera. We all stared at her for a moment until she finally realize that we can see her and she ran away.

"Woah, you have your own paparazzi?!? I'm so jealous!"

"Shut up Maya!" I pushed her playfully

At lunch, even more people were staring and pointing at me.

"These people are really annoying!" she said

I was about to throw my food away when my phone buzzed. I saw a message from my dad

"Who's that?" asked Maya

"It's from dad, he said were not going to stay at a hotel tonight, a friend of his saw us on the news, and offers to let us stay in their house until the house is done" I read the message

"Really?!? That's great!" said Maya, hugging me

"Oh it's her! It's her!"

"What the- GET OUT!" yelled Maya

"Let's all show the power of love, thank you for your help"

"What the hell is that?" asked Maya

We went closer to the sound until we saw Minho and a large crowd of people, there were posters saying "Love's Fundraising"

"Oh my god" Maya exclaimed "How- why?! Run before they see us!"

"Oh! There's (Y/N) and her friends, (Y/N)! Come here!" he yelled

"No!" but he grabbed my wrist and pulled me other the crowd

"If you saw the news yesterday, you know very well what happened, Our friend (Y/N) lost her house overnight due to a sudden earthquake" Minho continued "Minho! Shut up!" I whispered-yelled

"Let's all clap for (Y/N), despite what she's been through, she still came to school!"

Just then, Newt started walking in our direction, I quickly hid behind Minho.

"Oh! Hey hey hey, Class A-4 Newt"

Shit. I'm so screwed.

"Didn't you see the news yesterday? Don't you have a tv at home?" he asked

"Just going to walk off shamelessly?!"

"It was a mild earthquake of 2.0 magnitude, it shouldn't have costed that much destruction" Newt replied

"Right, but it was a newly constructed house, it was stable and safe, it shouldn't have been destroyed"

"Are you saying that I costed the earthquake?" he raised an eyebrow

"You've costed so much pain to a person's heart that this small has gotten this big"

"Alright" he sighed, wanting to end this amateur argument, he pulled out his wallet and grabbed 5, 20 dollar bills

"What a generous man" Minho happily took the money

"Put it away!" I yelled "Did anyone say they'd take your money?" I snapped "Even if I had to beg, I wouldn't take your money!"

"Oh really?" he smirked

"Really!"

"Fine, I'll respect that" he said putting the money back in his wallet and turning around

"Hey Newt!" "Who makes you so mighty the you ignore other people like me?"

He turned around to face me "To you, all the kids here look like idiots, don't they? Idiots that can't say a word back to you despite how much you look down at them"

"Are you just that better? Why! because you have higher IQ? Because you have good grades, a handsome fa-"

"Hey! I can study, and get good grades, who couldn't?!" I cleared my throat

"Really?" he smirked, coming closer

"Yeah!"

"Then show me"

"What? Show you?" I asked, confused

He nodded

"Ok fine! I'll show you!" I thought for a moment "What about the next exams?"

"(Y/N)! Are you crazy!?" asked Maya

"How much?" asked Newt

"Study Hall! If I get in one of the 50 spots"

"This months Study Hall?" he asked

"Yeah!" I said, "Next month, I'll get there"

"and if- when I do?" I smirked

"I'll take a lap around the whole school while holding you in my back"

"Fine by me" I shook his hand and he shook mine
