Hey love bugs, I've decided to update the last chapter so it makes more sense. I thought that it would be odd after the first day of meeting someone so I'm making it a two weeks after they become friends.
Naomi's P.O.V
I dialed my mom's number waited for her to answer.I finally decided that I would call her myself. It rung about three times before she answered. "Hello?" She said. "Hey momma, um I was wondering if I could stay over at a friends house to hang out and then come home after school tomorrow?" I asked praying that she wouldn't question me. "Um, who are these friends dear?" I tensed a bit. "Um Daniel and Vanessa.. The Simmons." I told her. "Oh yeah, sure do you have clothes?Or do I need to bring some over?"
"Um no ma'am it's fine Vanessa told me she would lend me some." I replied rapidly . "Okay baby, that's fine. I'll see you tomorrow okay?" We said our goodbyes and hung up. I turned to Daniel. "Thank you so so much for helping me." I started. "And you too Vanessa you guys are so nice, two weeks ago I don't think I would have been in this position ,with me getting help..not the whole bullying situation." I said the last part lowly. Vanessa rubbed my arm. "If you're important to Diggy, you're definitely important to me. I'll bring you an ice pack with some tea and we can all just hang out and talk if you guys want to."
I looked at Diggy and nodded. "Yeah, sure." Vanessa went downstairs and Diggy turned to face me. "I'm always going to be here when you need me." He smiled. I wanted to cry just a little because Diggy, and now Vanessa and their family knew of my situation at school and openly let me inside and are helping me out. "That's sweet of you Diggy." I smiled. We sat and talked and sort of laughed...because that kind of hurt to do due to the pain in my chest. I could sort of move around but talking wasn't a problem.
A few minutes later Vanessa came back with my tea and ice pack which I was extremely appreciative for. For the next few hours we just sat and got to know each other more and shared stories from our childhood. "I remember one time when I was about ten, I had watched 'Spy Kids' and they were doing all of these stunts so I thought I could do one too. So I go into my room and gear up with pillows and several layers of clothes and jumped through my window and into the yard thinking I was going to land on my feet." I paused and laughed. "I broke my leg and my arm that summer. My mom was so mad at me." We all laughed.
My bruises started to hurt less and the color was somewhat change back to normal. I sat a bit and leaned on Diggy for support in the process. As I was going to get up and scoot over so it wasn't awkward he pulled me back onto his shoulder and wrapped one arm around me.
Vanessa just smiled at us while we sat there looking at each other. It was nice. We let our gaze fall and Ms. Justine walked in asking if I was okay or needed anything. "No thank you I'm fine. But thank you so much for welcoming me into your home. I don't know what they would have done at home. I can't let them know just yet and I just don't need them worried about me all the time." I explained while Diggy rubbed my arm. "Oh anytime doll, anyone that important to Diggy is more than important to me. Glad to have you dear."
Tonight was great with Diggy and Vanessa. I meet a few of the others also. Miley is adorable and Russy is a sweetheart. The other two JoJo and Angela where somewhere else. But all in all even if today might have not been the best day for me I'm glad that I have friends to lean on.
"Hey we should get to bed, we have school tomorrow." Diggy stated. "Okay, I'll see you in the morning Dan." I hugged him getting up slowly and holding onto the wall for support. "Dig can I get some help?" I asked shyly. He got up and came to my side. "Here hop on." He squatted down and let me get on his back. I got on and he walked to Vanessa's room setting me down on the bed when we reached it.
I crawled back onto the extra bed in the room and got under the covers. I thanked Diggy and went to sleep.
