Chapter 14: Our Spot

Danielle's POV

I was with Pooh bear when Joshua texted me. We were at the mall and I was helping her pick out some clothes for her brother's graduation.

I felt my phone vibrate so I picked it up.

Joshua: meet me at out spot

Danielle: i cant. I'm busy

I put a kissing emoji so that he wouldn't think I was mad at him or anything.

When he texted back "please" I knew something was wrong. Joshua never ever ever said please.

I felt really bad for ditching Jamie but I had too. I told her I'm sorry and got in my car to leave.

I met Joshua at Rover Woods about 15 minutes later. I ran nearly all the stop lights trying to get here.

"Couldn't this wait." I said walking up to him.

His back was turned as he sat in the rocks and when he turned around with tears in his eyes and a gun in his hand my eyes went wide. Not to mention, there was blood on the gun.

I didn't know what to say so I did the only thing I could. I sat beside him and hugged him. He laid his head on my shoulder.

Of course I wanted to know what the hell was going on but right now I knew my boyfriend needed to be comforted and so that is what I did.

After about 10 minutes of us sitting like that in dead silence I looked up into his hazel eyes.

God he was beautiful. Seeing him hurt like this really made me want to cry.

"Joshua what happened? " I asked starting straight into his eyes.

"I don't want to talk ab--"

"What happened? " I said again in a serious tone.

I wasn't about to let this go. I didn't drive all the way out here for him just to tell me 'he didn't want to talk about it.' I wanted to be there for him just like he's always there for me.

He took a deep breathe. "It was just a regular day. I got a phone call from Black saying our product and money was missing. I found out who it was and Black killed him." He said bluntly.

I wasn't bothered by what he just said because I knew when I got involved with Joshua the type of life style he lead on.

I was bothered by how he said it, like it was just a ordinary thing for someone to die right in front of him.

He continued "As I've told you before my father's has been abusing my mother for as long I could remember. And I just--" He began to cry.

I've never seen him so vulnerable. Seeing him like this really made my heart ache.

"I just want him dead." He managed to spit out. "I walked into the house and I saw that he was cheating on my mother and I hit him and his broad with my gun knocking them both out. And then I called you."

"I don't even know why I'm here crying. I just really don't want to live this life anymore. Everything in my life is just so...complicated. I'm tired. I'm just tired." He cried out to me.

I didn't know what to say so I kissed him. It was soft but comforting. "My mom does cocaine." I said because I  didn't know what else to say. He looked at me.

"And my dads never home. My mom only comes around when she needs more crack. " I said dropping a few tears.

"We're more alike then we think." I said looking up at him.

We just stared at each other for what seemed like forever. Looking into his eyes, I knew that I really did love him. I loved him with everything in me.

"I'm sorry." He said.

"This wasn't even supposed to be about me." I felt bad.

A long pause went by before he said "The only good thing I really have in my life is you. And I never want to lose you."

Okay this really sparked the water works. Damn my makeup was now all fucked up. I knew for a fact I looked crazy as hell right now.

"Promise me you'll never leave me." He said holding out his pinky.

"I'll only promise you if you promise me." I said looping my pinky with his.

"I promise." We both said at the sane time.

"C'mon let's go." He said grabbing my hand and helping me up.

"Where are we going?" I asked taking his hand.

"To McDonald's. I'm hungry as fuck."

"Yeah you're right. But I'm already so thick, I mean I shouldn't be eating McDonalds, maybe a salad."

Joshua burst out laughing. He laughed because there was nothing thick about me.

"Only thing thick on you is your forehead." He laughed.

I nudged his shoulder. "Fuck you."

"I've been waiting to hear those words." He said pretending to unbuttoned his pants.

I turned to walk away with a fake attitude but he grabbed my hand and pulled me into his chest.

"I love you, Danielle Nicole Rogers." He said looking at me.

"That's good. I love me too." I said pulling away from him and laughing walking to my car.

He walked to his car also. He was just about to pull off when I pulled up next to him and rolled down my window.

"I love you too, Joshua Martin Fine Ass Davis." I said blowing him a kiss.

He rolled his eyes, laughed, and pulled off.
