"I just can't wait!"exclaimed Daniel Golbiemowski. Mason grabbed a book. He pointed to the cover. "I wish we could go to that place!"he said. It sucked Mason and his friends in. Then,the wind died down and it let them out. Mason opened his eyes and looked outside.. "Hey!We're in an olive grove just like when we went to Pompeii,"he said. "Are we in the wrong place?"asked Daniel. "I don't know, but look beyond the trees.Doesn't it look like a big fair?"said Kate. Mason looked. Kate was right. Past the olive grove was a field filled with white tents. Beyond the field were brick buildings with columns and crowds of people. "Come on!Let's go watch the Olympic Games!"said Mason. He and his friends walked through the olive grove to the tents. Daniel heard pipe music and smelled food roasting over fires. Groups of men talked excitedly to each other. "That's weird.I don't see any girls,"said Kate. "Oh sure there are,"said Daniel. "Then show me,"said Kate. Daniel looked around. But he only saw men and boys-no women or girls at all. Then he saw an outdoor theater. A woman was standing on the stage. She had brown hair and a purple tunic. "There,"said Daniel, pointing. "What are they doing?"asked Kate. A soldier was on the stage with her. He wore a cape and a helmet that covered most of his face. The woman and the soldier were talking loudly to each other and dancing. "I think they're doing a play,"said Lucille. "Hey!Daniel,you're wrong,"said Kate. When Daniel looked up,he saw the soldier and the woman bowing. Daniel saw that the woman had pulled off her wig. It was a man dressed up as a woman! "See,even she's a boy,"said Kate. "Women were not allowed to act, so men played the female roles,"said Lucille. "But what if a woman wanted to act in a play?"said Kate. "I know it's not fair,but it's the rule," said Lucille. "Let's just take a peek at the olympics,"said Mason. He nudged Kate. Just then he heard a voice. "Wait!" They turned around. A man with a white beard walked towards them. "Who are you?"asked the man,looking at Kate. "Who are YOU?"asked Kate boldly.
