The bearded man smiled at Kate. "My name is Plato,"he said. "Plato?"said Lucille. That name sounded familiar. "You might have heard of me.I am a philosopher,"the man said. "What is a philosopher?"asked Kate. "A lover of wisdom,"said Plato. "Wow,"said Kate. Plato smiled at her. "It's odd seeing two girls walking so bravely through Olympia. You must be from far away," he said. "We're Daniel,Kate,Lucille, and Mason,"said Kate."We come from Tolland,Connecticut. It's very far away!"said Daniel."Why have you come to Olympia?"asked Plato. "To see the olympic games,"said Mason. Plato nodded. "I have very special seats up in the viewing box,"he said. "But first, let me introduce you to a friend of mine. She is a poet but never tell anyone who the poet is." "We won't,"said Kate. Plato led them away from the outdoor theater. They started down a dirt road. It was crowded with people headed to the games. Plato stopped at the door of a cream house and a brick roof. He opened the door and led Lucille,Daniel,Kate, and Mason into an empty courtyard. "Wait here,"he said. Mason and his friends looked around. Rooms opened onto the sunny courtyard. Everything was quiet. "The people who lived here must have gone to the games,"said Kate. "I bet you're correct,"said Daniel. Just then,Plato returned. With him was a woman in a long white tunic. She was holding a scroll. Lucille and Kate smiled. "Finally. Some other girls,"she said. "Lucille,Kate,Mason, and Daniel, meet our secret poet,"said Plato.
