Chapter 2

"One and TWO!" My coach yelled as I danced gracefully across the floor. "Up! Alison, get off the floor. Thank you!" Miss Jennifer yelled. "Alison, I did not give you a solo so that you could slack off in your private rehearsals. Please try harder." She told me. I finally made it to the third corner of the room, and placed my hands on my knees, panting.

"I'm... Sorry." I got out between breaths.

"It's fine. Okay? I'm going to get Miss Tabithia in here and us three are going to begin your solo. We want to get as much done before you have to go again."

"I don't know if I'm going to go." I admitted, standing up straight, my breathing going back to normal.

"Why not, honey?" She asked.

"There's was a girl, and she's in the picture now and I think it's best if I stay here." I told her. I didn't really want Miss Jen knowing the full story, because as far as the public knows, I'm still in Mexico City with the boys.

"I'm really sorry, honey. You know you can talk to me, right?"

"I know Miss J." I told her, and she gave me a quick hug before going out into the lobby.

"Ali? Your phone was going off." An assistant came in and handed me my phone. It was still lit up with a stupid picture I took of Josh and I in the limo.

"Thanks...?"

"Miranda. I'm Miranda."

"Thanks Miranda." I said before sighing and pressing the answer button. I looked at the small girl in front of me, and she seemed quite familiar. I shook off that thought as the phone was connected.

"Alison?" Josh said over the phone. "You finally answered."

"I'm kind of busy." I said, my breath coming short.

"What are you doing?"

"Why?"

"Sorry Ali. I didn't know..."

"Josh. I'm not mad at you. Why did you call?"

"That's a relief." He said, and I could picture him smiling over the phone.

"How come you called? I thought you all would've known by now."

"We did. Harry flipped."

"I figured he would."

"You didn't have to be this extreme." Josh said, and his tone reminded me of someone.

"Josh, I'm not trying to be rude. But you really sound like my mom."

"We're all freaked."

"I'm really sorry."

"You sure sound like it." He snapped. I sighed, and listened to the silence for a few seconds.

"Josh, I'm sorry. I have to go. Call me around 10, okay? I'm sorry." I sighed, and hung up before he had a chance to reply.

"Are you okay?" Miranda asked. I jumped, I didn't know she was still in here. "Sorry. Didn't mean to scare you."

"It's fine. And yeah, I'm good."

"Ali, I'm a girl too, you know. And I can tell you're far from fine." She said sympathetically. I felt the tears well up in my eyes and turned away. "Honey," she said, coming over and hugging me.

"You don't have to stay here and watch me be a baby." I laughed, wiping my tears.

"Ali, I don't know what happened. But I know it was hard on you. You know that all of us at the studio are always here for you."

"Thanks Miranda. Apparently I'll be coming here more often than I usually would."

"Why is that?"

"Miranda, I really don't want you to get in trouble."

"Why would I get in-"

"It's really long and complicated. And-"

"Alison! I see you've met Miranda." Tabithia smiled as she walked in. "I don't believe we've met either. I'm Tabithia, I prefer Tabi but whatever floats your boat is good. Jen and I will be choreographing your solo, and Miranda gets to come and watch the process and give her opinion on things. She's a new assistant, and wants to teach her own class so we're letting her sit in and watch our three soloists."

"Oh, cool." I said, smiling at Miranda. "Who are the other two soloists?"

"Jen and I have talked, and we've decided that we want to give you and the other two soloists a trio. And since you'll be here for two weeks at least, we figure we can teach you it now. Sound good?"

"Sounds really good, but who are they?"

"Giordana? Avery? Come in here please! Tabi yelled. I turned to the door expectantly. I knew that Giordana danced with the juniors when I was an intermediate, but Avery was a new dancer at this studio.

"Ali, this is Giordana, and Avery." Jen introduced them absently when she walked in with them. They waved and smiled at me.

I was kind of uneasy about this situation, because nobody was supposed to know I was here. Obviously these two have heard of One Direction. The thought of this secret getting out to the public made me really nervous.

"I'm Alison. Or Ali, if you'd like." I told them kindly.

"We know." Giordana laughed. "I'm Giordana, or Giordy." Giordy was clearly Italian, and she was really pretty. "You've been here for a while, haven't you?" She asked me. I nodded absently.

"I'm Avery. Nice to meet you!" She gushed. "I've read all about you and your boyfriend. You're so lucky!" I met Miranda's eyes in the mirror, and it was like a lightbulb went off in her head. I laughed nervously.

"Okay guys look. I know this is really sudden, because I've been in Wolverhampton for a day and I've known you for a few seconds but can I ask you guys a favour?" They both nodded eagerly, and I sighed quietly in relief. "Nobody really knows I'm here. So can we keep it on the down low?"

"Of course!" Giordy said.

"Sure thing Ali." Avery said sincerely.

"Okay ladies, sit! We're going to interview Ali and vote on her solo song." Jen announced on her way in. I sat down in front of Giordy and Avery, and the two assistants joined us on the floor. Jen had her clipboard, and I took a deep breath. I had a feeling I was about to spill my little situation.

"Okay Alison. What's your relationship status?"

"I'm not entirely sure."

"Why not?"

"Something happened?"

"There was another girl..." I trailed off.

"Tell us."

"I was at the club- dont tell my mom." I said, laughing. Hey, Harry was underage as well. "And I saw my boyfriend leave with another girl and then I went home and went on Twitter and there was a picture of them kissing. So I got on a plane and came here." I said. Man, it felt good to get that off my chest.

"I have the perfect idea. So you haven't heard from your boyfriend since the club?"

"Not him directly, no."

"So you don't know if this other girl is in his life or not?" Miranda asked me, a glint in her eye.

"No..." I trailed off cautiously.

"Yes!" Miranda cheered. "I've got the perfect song for you."
