Chapter 17

"Doesn't this go... Here?" Harry asked, holding up a pole and pointing to a hole in the tent.

"You're the man here!"

"You should still help out." He responded cooly.

"Hmm..." I said, looking from the tent to the directions and back again. "The pole goes into the flap, and then it should just pop it right up."

"Okay, sounds easy enough." He said, smirking. He fed the pole through the flap where it was supposed to go, but it came out at the wrong spot. When he tried to pull the tent up, we heard a loud snapping noise and the rest of the tent just collapsed.

"Harry!!!" I shouted, choking back laughter and trying to be serious. The look on his face...

He looked like he'd just run over his neighbour's dog, or something like that. He looked like a scared, guilty little boy, and I couldn't hold the laughter back any longer.

I crouched down to the ground, tears coming to my eyes. He was immediately up and helping me get off the ground, and then I took a few steadying breaths to calm myself down... But as soon as we made eye contact I began laughing again.

"Your face!" I got out between bursts of laughter. He crinkled up his nose, and that's when I noticed how close we really were. "Um." I said, all laughter fading away as I spun out of his arms. "That was good. But let's actually try to-"

"You guys!" Lou groaned from where she was watching Tom set up their tent. "You suck at this outdoors stuff. Go on, Tom will set it up for you."

"We're sorry!" I called to her as I made my way back to the boys site.

"Speak for yourself." Harry snorted, before moving over to where Louis and Zayn were unpacking the van full of bags.

"Liam!" I called, and then walked over to the trailer. "Wow, this place is nice. I kind of wish I hadn't taken up Lou's offer." I joked.

"I can trade with you, if you'd like." He offered seriously.

"No, I already said yes."

"There's the Ali I know." He grinned. "You've been out of it lately, and it's good to the the good-hearted girl I grew up with again." He said, before ruffling my hair and going to take bags from Louis at the door. I decided to not ruin the moment and keep my mouth shut, rather than pushing for an explanation.

"Who's sleeping where?"

"Well obviously you and Harry in the tent, so Harry's bed is empty. I get the bed in the far back with Niall, and Louis is sharing with Zayn near the door... That won't work." He laughed.

"They will sneak out, you know." I pointed out.

"I know. That's why Niall and I are switching to the one near the door, so they don't do anything stupid."

"Smart choice."

"Yeah." He grinned, and then his eyes lit up. "Do you remember when you first came back, and you said that you would have to practice your solo constantly?"

"I remember." I sighed. I had to be honest with myself- I missed the studio.

"Well, when we were here before, I saw a stage at the amp theatre."

"Amphitheatre." I corrected absently.

"Yeah, that. Maybe you could go there a bit later and practice? I haven't seen your full solo yet, and it would be cool."

"Are you saying you would want to come with me?"

"Well, yeah. And Niall suggested it, so probably him too."
