Chapter 16

"You guys are absolutely amazing." Emily told us as she embraced her children. "Thank you so, so much. I can't thank you enough."

"Don't worry about it." Liam smiled.

"We're glad to help!" Niall added.

"It was fun!" Louis cheered. I stayed near the back of the room with Zayn and Lux- there was no way I was going to crowd the newly reunited family and steal the credit. It was a group thing, and they had enough people crowding them anyways.

"You organised this?" Harry asked quietly. It took me a moment for me to realise he was talking to me, and I held back a sigh of annoyance. If he ignored me, it would be that much easier to hate him.

"It was a group thing." I said cooly. To be honest, I was surprised that he was being civil towards me. I'm not sure what had happened, but he just doesn't like talking to me anymore. I understand why he wouldn't want to be near me, but it still stings a little when I see him. Apparently Zayn was surprised too, from the way that he raised his eyebrows and gave me a strange sideways glance.

I wasn't really expecting Harry to try and continue the conversation (considering how cold he's been to me since Seattle), so it only stung a little bit when he turned away wordlessly.

"That was really nice of you." He said suddenly. Now it was my turn to hide my shock, and I turned away from him.

"Ali, can you come here? There are some people I'd like you to meet." Emily called to me. I readjusted my grib on Lux, and walked up to where Emily and her family were standing.

"Thanks again, for organising this. My name is Mark, I'm Em's husband." He smiled at me.

"No problem, and it's nice to meet you."

"Ali, this is Diana and Kylie. They were so excited to meet you." Emily smiled as she introduced me to her kids.

"Hi guys. I'm Ali, and this is Lux."

"Nice to meet you." The girls chorused.

"Can you tell us apart?" The more independent one asked. I shook my head no, and she gave me a grin. "I'm Kylie, and I'm missing my two front teeth. Diana isn't missing any."

"I have loose teeth, though." The other twin, Diana, spoke spoke up from her mothers arms.

"I remember when I was losing teeth." I told them, my 'babysitter mode' turning on.

"Did you give them to the tooth fairy?"

"I did." I told Kylie. She had a cute little glimmer in her eye, and I assumed it was inspiration.

"I haven't yet. But I will when I go home!" She declared. I saw Emily mouthing 'thank you', and I had to bite my lip to keep from smiling.

"Does your baby talk?" Diana asked me.

"My baby?" I repeated stupidly. I then remembered Lux, and a burst of laughter escaped my lips. "This isn't my baby. But yes, she talks. Say hi, Lux!"

"Hewwo." Lux said, waving her hand at the small girl.

"Hi baby!" Kylie sang, jumping around while Lux giggled.

"Okay, Kylie. We should go to bed now, it's an early morning." Emily said after a few minutes. It was true- we're going to be leaving the hotel at 6:30 to get to the campground by 8. It was very early, if you were a crazy little girl.

"That goes for you too, Luxie. Who should help you go to sleep tonight?" I asked the baby.

"Hawi!!" She said almost immediately. I held back a sigh and scanned the room for the boy.
