I latch up my final suitcase and heave it downstairs. I throw it onto the floor with a huff. "Hey grandma!" I say. My grandma turns around.
"Oh, Eva!" She beams. If you didn't know I'm Evelyn Sanders. I lost both my parents. My mom, to cancer and my dad to a road accident. But let's get that depressing shit out of the way. I love with my grandma. I love her to death.
I'm heading out to Arizona State University to study journalism. I'm gonna be sharing a dorm room, with someone. I don't know who. But I'm sure they'll be great. I hope.
"Well, I'm leaving..." I glance at my phone. "30 minutes," I finish. My grandma's face goes sad.
"Oh dear. That's barely enough time to say our goodbyes," she wails. I pull her into a hug.
"Grandma, it's okay. I'll always be able to visit. Don't worry," I say, as I feel tears start stinging my eyes. I'm gonna miss her. A lot.
"I don't know if you're safe! What if something happens to you? What if something bad happens to me, and you won't be here to help me?!" She sobs.
"Aw, grandma. I'll be fine. And you aren't that old. You can handle yourself, for sure. But if you ever need me, I'm one call away," I say. But I break into tears.
"Oh, Eva, I'm going to miss you so much," she says and kisses my forehead. I nod.
"Me too," I say and pull away from out hug. I hear the door click open and Noah, my boyfriend am walks in.
"Oh hey, you leaving already?" He says, as he pulls me in and kisses me. I live in California, but I didn't want to go to that university, so Arizona it is! I nod at his comment.
"Yeah... I'll miss you," I squeak. My grandma goes up the stairs. Probably to give us privacy.
"Babe, don't worry we'll still be long distance," he assures. I wrap my arms around his muscular torso. I look info his beautiful forest green eyes. I sigh. I'll be missing lots.
"Yeah, of course," I say. I glance at my phone. "Oh god! I'm leaving in 15 minutes!" I squeal.
"Calm down. You have time," Noah laughs. I laugh too.
"You know how I am," I giggle. He smiles, and places his hands on my hips. He pushes me against the wall, gently. He kisses me and I give into it. I feel his smile through it. He pulls back.
My grandma walks back in. "I have to go now. I love you," I say to Noah and peck his cheek. "I love you too," I say to grandma and kiss her cheek.
"Call me when you get there," grandma calls. I nod. Noah follows me to my car with my suitcases and bags. As I'm about to get in, I remember my laptop is still in my bedroom. "Shit!" I mutter and rush into the house. I rush up the stairs and grab my laptop.
As I'm about to leave my bedroom, I take in my pink and white walls once more. My framed pictures of me and my best friend Rachel. I saw her yesterday, because she was doing school stuff today again. I sigh and rush out the door again.
I get in my car and wave back at Noah and my grandma. I drive off and here I go. It's gonna be a long drive.

When I'm almost there, I decide to stop at this convince store/gas station. I pull up into one of the sections and slip in my credit card. I grab the nozzle and fill up my car.
After filling up my car, I walk into the store, to grab some food. I pick up a bag of veggie sticks and a bag of white cheddar popcorn. I also grab some water bottle, and some Pure Leaf iced tea.
After paying, drive off.
