i realized i forgot to explain how the clocks work. when you've met your 'match', your clock will beep when you first make physical contact. this will alert the government, and a team of certified agents will remove the clock and place a special brand- or a permanent marking -on their skin to signify that the individual is already promised to someone.

if your 'match' has died, you will be rushed to the hospital and have your clocks reset. you will know your then-'match' has died because you will:
a) feel nauseous
b) feel light-headed
c) a combination of both A and B
d) experience double vision
e) fainting
f) or in extreme cases, death or other fatal attacks which include, but are not limited to : heart attacks, strokes, seizures, and paralysis
