"Guys have you seen Nathan?" I asked as we all took our seats at our usual lunch table. I was sitting next to Marco and Reagan, while Cody and Chase sat across from us. "No." Cody rushed out. "Okay." I dragged. "How about Lauren?" Chase asked. "She's sitting alone." Reagan said. "Where?"Reagan pointed towards where we dump our trays when we're done with our lunch- she was sitting by the garbage cans.
I let an unlady like snort. "So, we never got to ask, how was Florida with your one true love?" Marco chuckled.
"I didn't go there with Cameron Dallas? What are you talking about?" I joked. We all let out a loud laugh. "But actually it was really good, I was so close to winning this big bouncy ball in the arcade but Nathan pulled me out of the arcade." I smiled.
"What time did you guys get home yesterday?" Cody asked. "Around the evening, maybe six or seven o'clock." I replied. "What did you guys do?" Chase said. My cheeks turned a dark shade of pink. "No more questions."
"Oh my god! They fucked!" Marco yelled. "Shut up Marco!" I hissed. "That's none of your business." I said and crossed my arms. "Wait, you guys really did? I was just joking. Damn."
They all ooooh'd and ahhh'd. "Okay yeah I'm leaving now." I laughed and went to dump my tray.
I walked to my locker and found a note tapped on the front. It had read:
Kali,
Meet me outside by my car, its across the street of the school.
-Nate
I crumpled up the note, threw it in the garbage and made my way outside to go see him.
I looked around and saw him sitting on the curb, smoking a cigarette with a bottle of beer next to him.
"Hey?" I smiled. "Sit down Kali." He said in a stern voice. My smile dropped, but I did as I was told and I sat down on the curb next to him.
"How come you weren't in school?" I asked. "I'm leaving Kali."
"What do you mean? Why did you tell me to come out here if you were just going to leave right away?"
"No Kali, like I'm leaving the state, I don't really have a purpose here." He shrugged and puffed the smoke from his mouth out into the cold winter air. "What? Purpose? Nathan you cant leave, Ill miss you." I said.
"I don't really care if you'll miss me." He said through a straight face.
He was being serious.
"What are you talking about? Did Saturday night mean nothing to you?" I asked.
"Kali there's no reason to stay in this shithole town." He said. "Shithole town? You mean the town that you said was better than Florida because you met me here? And no reason? Aren't I a reason? If you leave what would happen to us?"
"Us? Kali we're not dating." He scoffed. "But wasn't that what you wanted, you've said it multiple times that you have been meaning to ask me out."
"Kali, I've never been one to stick around with one girl for a period of time. You should feel special, I mean I could have been with way hotter girls that I could have banged on a daily basis, but I decided to be a good guy and give you a chance, lets face reality Kali, we were obviously not going anywhere." Nathan shrugged.
What the hell is he talking about?
"Not going anywhere?" I exclaimed. "I lost my damn virginity to you!"
"Yeah I know, I could tell you were a virgin." He cringed. "You could tell?" I whispered. What's that suppose to mean? "Yeah of course I could tell, you basically had no experience."
"Nathan what the fuck! You're being a complete asshole, what happened to the sweet side of Nathan that I saw on Saturday?" I asked.
"Oh my god Kali, can you just leave it! I'm leaving, grow up and realize that not everything can go your way." He shook his head and stood up. Nathan took one last swig of the beer and smashed it onto the ground and began walking towards the door of his car.
"What, did you feel bad for me? Feel bad because I was 17 year old virgin who lost her parents in a god damn fire?" I whimpered. Tears began to fall from my eyes.
"God damn grow up, I really don't care if your parents died. I was just looking for an easy fuck." He rolled his eyes. "So that's why you were so nice to me?" I whispered. "I'm such an idiot." I said to myself.
"I knew it was too good to be true."
"Okay, I'm leaving now." Nathan turned on his heels and got into his car. "You're an asshole Nathan Carver, I can't believe I trusted you. Have a damn good life!" I yelled and began walking away. I heard a scoff come from Nathan.
I turned around and saw Nathan rolling his eyes looking at me. "I have never hated someone so damn much! I may have said I hated you before but I never meant it, this time I do Nathan! I hate you so fucking much! You played me! You fucking played me!" I yelled as tears poured out of my eyes.
I felt my knees go weak, they gave in and I began my journey to the floor, but someone wrapped theirs arms around me just in time and held me to their chest as we both laid to the ground.
I heard Nathan laugh and his car wheels screeching against the road as he drove away.
I broke down even more and let out large sobs. "Shh Kali, I'm so sorry, I'm so damn sorry he did this to you."
I whipped my head and saw it was Cody holding me in his arms.
"Cody he left, he fucking left!" I yelled. "I know Kali, he's stupid as fuck for hurting you in any way. He doesn't deserve a queen like you." He whispered as his kissed my hair.
"Can you just bring me home." I cried. "Of course." He said.
Cody lifted himself off of the ground, put an arm under my knees and his other arm under my back. He picked me up and carried me over to his car and placed me in the front seat.
"He's not gonna get away with treating you like this Kali, I'm gonna teach him a fucking lesson for hurting you." Cody gripped onto the steering wheel harder. turning his knuckled white.
"Thank you Cody." I whispered.
