For as long as I can remember I've been told what to do. Every decision, Every action, was decided by my parents. I guess it was normal for people my age, after all, every demon wants their kids to follow in their footsteps. That most certainly was the case for my parents, or mother dearest and the stupid step father, as I referred to them.
To many it seems like a pretty normal scenario, however my upbringing and I were anything but normal. Being born the daughter of the deceased devil king leads to extremely high expectations. My father was destroyed by the previous king when I was 2 years old. My mother remarried another demon by the time I was 3, and I was under the jurisdiction of an idiot father who was not my own.
Normally I would be treated as an ordinary devil, however my bloodline refused me any chance of normalcy. It seems I had been born with abnormally strong powers, greater than that of my real father. I enjoyed the strength I had, what devil wouldn't, but being stronger than all the devils created a problem; being born stronger meant you were viewed as a tool. Nothing more than a mean of strengthening their family.
That's why I'm leaving, I'm tired of being a pawn in other peoples games. My father had been king, I had his power in my veins. I would not dishonour his memory by being a weak little girl. 10 years old might seem young to run away, but I was a devil; I could survive.
I was in my room, putting together a small bag pack. It was all I could take, anything else would draw attention. Plus I would have to be on the move as soon as I reached the human world. Chances were my absence would be noticed within a maximum of 6 hours. That was how long I had to get to the human world, mask my scent, and get out of their tracking range. This plan would fail if I couldn't do that in 6 hours.
Finally, I managed to cram everything I needed into the bag. going over to my desk I picked up my lucky necklace. It was a golden pendant with the family emblem carved into it, secured by a gold chain. It had been my fathers before he was destroyed.
putting the bag on my back I secured the straps so the bag wouldn't move to much. I was in jeans and a cotton shirt with leather boots. It had been a struggle to find normal human clothes considering my wardrobe consisted of dresses chosen by my mother. I look in the mirror to check my appearance, my reflection looks back. Wide blue eyes, beneath long soft orange hair stood dressed in human clothes. Turning away I steeled my heart.
Going to the door I opened it a crack to allow me to peer into the hall. I sniffed the air but nothing was around. Easing forward I stepped into the hall, closing the door behind me. The blood rep carpet quietened my footsteps and allowed me to creep through the vast halls undetectable.
After no incidents I finally made it to the front entrance. I was at the top of the staircase looking down on the foyer where the front door lay. The room was made of black marble; the staircase was accented in black metal leading in a curve to the entrance. I ran down the steps and reached for the door. Before my hands could grab the handle the silence broke.
"Ruff" A sharp bark rung through the houses silence. I whirled to look at the noise that came from behind me. I pressed my back to the door. My eyes landed on the source of the noise; a small Pomeranian. I relaxed when I saw it, it was only the dog; a small bundle of light brown fur with a lolling tongue.
"shhh, be quiet." I whisper yelled. That dog had weird timing, it always showed up at random times. It trotted forward, so I knelt down so I could pat it. It threw itself into my arms allowing me to hold it. It was such a cute creature, holding it close I found comfort in its presence.  The dog always appeared when I needed something to calm me down. Ever since I was little it was there.
"I'm sorry I have to leave" I muttered into its fur. It looked at me, no longer excited. Putting it down I stood up and reached for the door. Looking at the dog one last time I went through the door, closing the entrance behind me. I ran across the estates fields. As soon as I was off the houses property I would be able to teleport undetected.  Finally I passed the boundary. I let out a sigh as I thanked my lucky stars. I turn my gaze up to the blood red moon that hung overhead, submerged in a pit less dark sky. We didn't have stars in the devil realm, I had heard about them though. Settling myself I transported.

The purple smoke cleared as I found myself in a new place. It seemed to be a street in some sort of town. Grey cobblestones paved the ground and lights stood on metal poles illuminating the wet ground. I looked up to the sky and stood in awe. The sky had a huge silver moon surrounded by small shining specks; It was beautiful. Turning to look ahead I started to run, before teleporting to another part of this realm, this human world.
