Just the way things are

The sun was slowly rising, and I stared at it with distaste. I wish I could glaze over today without it ever having to exist but alas, I didn't have the power to do that. I was going to have to go to school, and even though it was for Ritsuka's well being I still felt reluctant. Why? Why couldn't Ritsuka be in a school that wasn't hosting unwanted reminders of my past?
"Good Morning Lily" Ritsuka beamed. I stared at her as she and Lindo walked through the gate of the house.
"Hey" I beamed, waving as they joined me. It was weird wearing the same clothes as Ritsuka, the uniform was nice but for someone of my figure it accentuated everything. My legs were so long that the skirt seemed to leave half my leg bare, and the fitted waist made my chest look more generous than all the girls my age. Downside of being a demon, you automatically get attention, which makes flying under the radar next to impossible.
"I'm sorry you've had to move out Lily. I wish it was safe for you at home" Ritsuka said. I tensed at her mention of it, she still didn't know about my heritage. She just thought Lindo was keeping me away because I was a weak human, oh the irony.
"It's fine. Plus I've had more time on my own without this idiot getting in the way" I laughed. Lindo seemed shocked as I joked with Ritsuka. She thought my comment was pretty funny.
"Hey, I don't get in the way" he protested, a slight blush on his cheeks. I smirked back, giving Ritsuka a knowing look. She laughed as we continued to walk to school. It was fun being able to act like this again, I'd almost forgotten what it was like. It reminded me of when we were younger, those months before Lindo and I moved to London.
"Well, this is it" Ritsuka announced as we arrived at the school gates. With that single line she turned my good feeling into a blood chilled experience. I glanced at Lindo who seemed unfazed; then again, I was the only person with a past relation to the Devils inside.
"So, is it too late to turn back?" I joked, rubbing the back of my neck, smiling at the two. Ritsuka laughed but Lindo had concern in his eyes. He knew why I was nervous, heck, he was the only person that understood.
"Well, I'm going to go find Asuna" Ritsuka stated as she ran off to go find her friend. I watched as she made her way into the building, my eyes watching her every move.
"This isn't going to be easy" I said to Lindo. He nodded at my statement; both of us were aware of how difficult it was going to be to keep Ritsuka safe. With vampires and Devils involved, luck certainly wasn't on our side.
"I'll head to their council chamber. If their going to make a move, I want to know where they are when they make it" I stated. Lindo froze at that statement.
"You sure that's a good idea. I don't want you to put yourself in danger for no reason" Lindo started. I glanced at him, slightly curious as to his statement. He normally didn't care what I did.
"I'll be fine. You do your thing, I'll do mine" I smile. I try to put on a calm demeanour to ease his worry. He nodded slightly. Walking inside, I weave through the maze of students towards the council chamber. It was a good distance to the room, and the hall outside was almost empty. I stared at the heavy wood door as I felt my heart beat skip. I still felt weird about seeing other Devils, it was similar to facing an old friend that had forgotten you. As I went to open the door it was flung open and a person stepped through. I jumped back at the sudden action, avoiding the entry of the person.

Out stepped a boy, with smooth blue hair and crystal clear cerulean eyes. He froze when he saw me, his muscles seizing as he meets my gaze. His uniform was unfamiliar to me. As we met gazes, his cheeks turned a crimson shade.
"Excuse me, but you're blocking the door" I sighed, as he stood their stupidly. He jerked at my voice, his blush still prominent. I cocked an eyebrow at his behavior, was this guy alright?
As I went to speak he stepped backwards and closed the door behind him. The door slammed shut as he went back into the room quickly. I was left gob smacked at the guy's behavior. Reaching out I grab the door and yank it open, revealing the council room. I stared around at the room, to see the blue haired boy nowhere in sight. Instead the four Devils, I had originally came to keep an eye on were sitting around the room. They all looked up to see my entrance. I closed the door behind me and stood tall meeting their gazes.
