Ivy's P.O.V.

Baekhyun took me over to the design room, where the gown was. When we arrived there, I realised the time was exactly 4:36pm, and he said it's late. But it's a ball, a masquerade ball in fact. And it's starting in the evening.

"Master!" Xiumin was shocked when Baekhyun entered the design room, just to find him and the other design boys preparing some materials.

I could see Xiumin raising his eyebrows when he spotted me behind Baekhyun, my hand in his. I know. It feels different when he does that.

But somehow I like it.

Baekhyun's casual voice woke me up from the little monolog in my head.

"Xiumin, I need you to take care of this lady over here. Get her in that- the gown - and make sure she gets all the details of the ball." Baekhyun gestured, refering to the gown still in the corner of the room. "She's been stuck in my room too much, she's gonna go cuckoo in no time."

I opened my mouth at his insult but he stopped me with his sharp look. "Now, get ready. I'll come back later for you."

And with that, he lets go of my hand, nodded at the boys, turned around and walked away. Just like that, leaving me dumbfounded by his actions.

Why is he- Wait, nevermind. Must be my own stupid feelings. He can't possibly be interested with a maid. And after what he heard back at my room, it's just so hard to tell what he felt and thought about my conversation. About my other master.
Isn't the beastly Byun Baekhyun angry; or even furious?

If he is, I can't tell. I just can't tell. And I feel so tensed about the other master I don't even know what to feel.

My mouth lets out a loud gasp when I felt someone tapping my shoulder, and I spun so quick I thought I was gonna take out my gun. But my eyes fell onto Xiumin, with his both confused and suprised expression on his face.

"Ivy? Neo gwaenchana?" He asked, and I replied with a nod. "Yeah. Defintely. I was just- urm- preparing."

Out of all things you can say, Ivy. You just gotta make some crap answers, won't you?

Xiumin's soft chuckle made me pursed my lips. "Well then, if you're done, miss Ivy, we should really do some real preparing now." He said, opening his arms wide, gesturing towards the glowing gown, waiting there for me.

For me.

"So, what are we waiting for?"

Author's P.O.V.

Emptiness circled the boy's mind as he made his way out of the hall. The sound of his own footsteps haunted him together with the gripping feeling inside him.

Scared, anxiety, anger or defeat? Nothing could describe what he felt that very second.

He passed a few coworkes as he kept walking; giving them small gestures of his break or just giving them a warm smile.

But neither of those made him feel any better.

He'd reached the men's restroom by the time, and as soon as he got there, he checked the doors to make sure no one was there.

"Is anyone here?" He asked.

The silence answered him so he quickly took out his phone. Going through the contact list, he found the right ID and called it.

Staring himself in the mirror, he bit his lips when the call was answered.

"Master." A forced call went through his lips.

Then the sound of breathing crawled into his mind, making him frown.

"Ah, neoya."

"Ne." He answered.

"It's been while since you called? Why? Have you killed the old man?"

The boy sighed. "Unfortunately, no. Not yet. He's in England now, master. I can't proceed the plan."

"Really? Hm..." the other side lets out a deep hum. "Looks like he's gonna live longer than his son."

The boy slightly winced.

"What do you mean, master?"

"Well, since you can't get your job right for the past few years, I had to send another one for the job."

His hands balled into fists as he heard the man speak of him. How he wanted to punch his face.

"My precious Ivy will be doing it. And I'm going to make sure she does it."

The boy muffled a sigh and answered: "Ne as you please, master."

He understood clearly what the man meant and he knew that it wasn't a joke.

His master never jokes around.
