[Several years ago]

"Ivy," the 19 year old boy with dark hair approached the girl who was sitting alone in class.

Ivy looked up from the book she was reading and pursed a smile when she saw him.

"Kris."

Kris smiled brightly and took a seat beside her, for nobody was there to see the rich guy hanging out with the normal kid.

"You're alone, again? Reading?"

Ivy smirked. "Obviosly, Kris. You're here, again? Flirting?"

Her words sent a sheepish smile on Kris's face.

"Goshhh, you are one sassy girl."

Ivy casted him a typical look, not knowing how to respond to that so she decided to focus back on her book. It was a book about life and money; how to make a living for a family.

"Ivy-ah." Kris called for her.

She didn't looked up, just replied with a soft hum.

"Are your parents having problems again?"

The girl froze for a moment, pretty startled by his random question. She cleared her throath and shook her head. "Not your concern, Kris."

Kris leaned his face near hers and she tried to avoid his sharp look. He looke like he was going to eat her alive somehow, making her even more nervous.

"Hey, if you need financial help, you csn always ask-"

"SHUT. UP. I don't need any help." Ivy instantly snapped, her whole reaction changing after she realized what Kris had in mind. He's playing Prince Charming while she's gonna be a Cinderella in vain. Oh, please.

Ivy stared into Kris's eyes, who looked taken aback by her. "I just have to find a proper job and everything is gonna be fine. My parents are alright, and so is my brother. Nothing's wrong with my family, so I suggest you to back off and mind your own business."

Ivy was actually trembling when she said those harsh words, but she didn't want to cause Kris any trouble because of her family's fate of being poor and in debt all the time. Her brother had just been born and she's not gonna hesitate to find extra income for her family herself.

But what Kris did scared the soul out of her.

He had reached for both of her hands and took them in his, even though Ivy was struggling to get out from his grasp. But he didn't give her a chance to escape.

"I know it's hard, Ivy. Plus, we're graduating soon." He whispered, looking sincerely into her eyes.

Ivy was speechless, caught in her heavy breath as she drowned in his gaze.

"So I want you to accept my offer." He muttered and Ivy frowned.

"W-What offer?"

Kris smiled. This time the smile was different, and it sent a shrill down her spine.

"Ivy, I want you to be my maid. I'll pay you every month, and you just have to stay at my place until you get the right amount you need. You can do chores very well, right? You'll be the perfect one for this job. It's not like you don't know me, right? You'll be fine, and happy."

Kris's offer cretainly caught Ivy's attention.

She could stay there and get paid. Then she will have enough money for her parents to finish their debt. Her brother will be treated well. She just have to work there, serve Kris as her master.
