"They just appear in random places?" Luke asked cocking an eyebrow as we made our way toward math, "We just need to stop by my locker, that alright?"

I nodded before getting back to the previous topic, "Well it's not so much random places as it is places I'll be or places I'm going too," I corrected him. We arrived at his locker and he switched his history books for our math books before shutting his locker, grabbing my hand and dragging me down the corridor.

"So you've had one in your locker, one on your desk, one on your art easel, one at your lunch desk and one on your car windshield?" He summarised biting his lip.

"Yeah..."

"He must be in some of our classes.."

"Our?" I asked cocking my eyebrow as I glanced at him.

"Yeah our classes," he chuckled, "I'm in almost every class of yours come on Sammy,"

"True," I shrugged.

"Anyways, he seems to know when and where to leave them for you. So he must know your schedule well and that's likely to be if he's in some of our classes. Similar classes, similar schedule right?" He chuckled to himself, "Or he's a psycho stalker," he cackled before noticing my frown, "I'm kidding Sammy,"

I thought it over for a while and after each passing second, what Luke had said seemed more and more likely.

"You're right," I nodded in agreement with the voiced thought, "With the schedule theory that is,"

"I'm always right Sammy," he nudged my shoulder as we neared the math door.

That reminds me.

"Luke that reminds me of something," I glanced down at my best friend as he took his seat.

"Hmm?" He hummed half listening as he reached into his backpack.

"In yesterday's picture, he called me Sammy," I turned in my seat to face him.

"Hey that's my name for you!" He whined and I laughed at his reaction, "But if he knows something that personal, maybe he's closer than we thought,"

After that we fell into a comfortable silence as we thought about who the mystery artist could be while we waited patiently as the temp teacher handed out the worksheets to each student.

"Samantha, I've been asked to give this to you," the young cover teacher spoke up after handing both me and Luke the assigned worksheets.

He handed me the familiar rolled up paper, secured with a silk black ribbon.

"Oh, okay," I smiled politely back at the teacher before he walked off.

"Open it Sammy I want to see!" Luke nudged me slightly, so I followed his whining and smiled.

'Don't be afraid to be yourself Sammy, that's when you shine brightest'
