Allison grabbed my hand in hers and stopped me. “Hey, don’t go. Please just stay Scott.” She said looking at me and she had that look in her eyes that I couldn’t resist. She faked a smile and looked down at the ground again.

“Okay. I’ll stay.” I said softly before lifting her chin up again, slowly. “Don’t do that. I like actually seeing your face.” I said, chuckling a bit at her.

Allison laughed quietly, let go of my hand, and walked to her bed sitting at the edge of it. I decided to follow her, but instead of sitting on the edge of the bed, I walked to the side of the bed and climbed on top of it, leaning against her bed frame. She turned her body to face me and rested her chin on her knees. She looked so beautiful and all I wanted was to just hug her tigthly and never let go. If I could stay like that for the rest of my life, I would be happy forever.

A sigh escaped my lips as I leaned my head back and closed my eyes. The more I thought about us, the worse I felt. The worst part was, I had no idea what to say to Allison at the moment so I had nothing to take my mind off of the fact that she needed space. It sucked, but I knew in my heart that we would be together in the end.

When I opened my eyes, Allison was sittng next to me and a forced a smile. I just wanted her to be happy. That’s all, but I knew that with me being there, she just felt worse.

Allison leaned her head against my shoulder and sighed before whispering to me, “I’ve missed you so much Scott.”

A smiled to myself and whispered back, “I know, I’ve missed you too. More than you will ever know.”

“Can we just lay here for a little bit, please?” Allison asked me sweetly. How could I refuse? The love of my life –who could convince me to do anything she wanted just by looking at me- was asking me to lay with her. It was impossible to refuse.

“Of course we can.” I said to her as I layed down on her bed. She quickly layed down next to me, her head inches from mine. It was almost perfect. For not being together, this was more than I could ever hope for. It was extremely obvious that Allison was completely drained and needed some rest.

In minutes, she was out cold and somehow, in her sleep, she had found a way to lay her head on my chest and her around my waist. The grin was showing on my face, ear to ear.

In that moment, my life seemed… perfect.
