Chapter 2: Special Day!

A/n: Two posts in one day?! Omg :o

Sam's POV

I slowly opened my eyes to the feeling of my mom shaking me awake. "Sam wake up." She said while I groaned and the slowly got up. I rubbed my eyes as I looked out the window next to my bed and then stretched. "C'mon Sam, we're almost going to go get our starter!" Taurtis cried as I saw him and Yuki were already dressed. "And you're not even dressed yet!" Yuki added while I moved the covers of my bed. "I changed last night." I told them, revealing my outfit.

Taurtis' colors were mostly blue, red, and black. He had a blue shirt with a red and black T on the back of it while he had on blue and red wristbands on both wrists. He had some black jeans which were held up with suspenders and he had blue and red headphones. It was almost the same outfit as he usually wears but he has a black glove on his right hand and on his left. He bad a plain black backpack on too. "You're wearing the same outfit as always." I told Taurtis. "What?! No! I changed it by adding this glove you see!" He pointed out, I chuckled.

Yuki was wearing a baggy pink and white jacket while she had her normal white bow in her hair. She had light grey denim short shorts and also a backpack around the same color as Taurtis'. "Ok, now Yuki's just the same as she always looks." I said while laughing. "Well I don't want to buy clothes that are just going to look weird... Id prefer my normal outfit." She said while I admitted to have my same exact clothing too. "See Sam! You're wearing the same thing too." Taurtis said as my mom brought us some breakfast.

"Ok, I made you guys some food for the trip over there." She said while she handed us three plastic bags. She handed it to me and I put it inside my backpack, which was on my bed, and then we were now ready to go. "Alright, be safe you three!" My mom said while she kissed my forehead. "Mom, in front of my friends..." I mumbled while Taurtis obviously tried to hold in his laughter as he went downstairs. "Oh who cares! Be sure to call me once a day! If you don't call me, I'll call you!" She said while I nodded.

"Ok... Bye mom." I said as i ran downstairs with my friends. We rushed out the door and ran all the way to the lab. "Which starter are you getting?" I asked my friends as we rushed past the old pond we always hang out, which is like right next to my house. "I'm getting a Charmander!" Yuki cried. "I'm getting a Squirtle! He's gonna be so cool as a Blastiose!" Taurtis said while smirking. "I guess that means I'll be getting a Bulbasaur..." I said while giving a little smile.

Lucky for us, the lab wasn't too far so we were able to get there. When we entered we saw were the last group to arrive. "Oh hello, a little late are we?" The professor said cheerfully. She walked over to us with three pokèballs in hand. She had glasses, blonde hair, blue eyes, a blue shirt with black pants and a white lab coat. "Yeah... Sorry about that." Yuki said as we walked to the center of the lab. There were lots of other scientists here, they were all either conducting research on a species of Pokèmon, or developing something.

"Well luckily I have enough for the three of you." She said while she set them down on three spots for each pokèball. "Anyways, I am Professor Okami! You may call me as such, or simply just by Okami!" She grinned as we looked in awe at the pokèballs. It was time! "You may each chose one partner. Remember... This young little fella will embark with you on your journey all around Kanto!"

Taurtis picked up the ball for his Squritle he looked at it and then smiled the biggest smile I've ever seen come out of his face. "Is this the one you want?" Okami asked. He nodded while she allowed him to take Squirtle out. "Okay... Squirtle come out!" He said as he tossed his ball in the sky. In midair, he popped out while giving out a cheerful cry of its own name. He landed right in Taurtis' arms and the two laughed while he did so. The two seemed to already be getting along just fine. "Would you like to give him a nickname?" Okami asked.

"Yes, I want to name him... Tortoise!" Taurtis said as we heard a random 'tad dum, tss.' Classic puns. "Ayy, lmao." I said while laughing. (XD omg!)

"Now what about you?" The professor asked Yuki. Yuki walked up to the pokèball Charmander was in. She took a deep breath while holding the ball close to her chest. "I chose this one, the fire type!" She cheered. Okami nodded at her choice, and Yuki did the same as Taurtis did. But instead, she didn't say anything. I looked at her face and she was a very bright red and saw a little sweat come down. "I'm really nervous, what if it doesn't like me?!" She cried as the lizard Pokèmon came down.

She screamed in unison with the Pokèmon as she attempted to catch it, but only fell in front of her feet. The poor fire type gave out a painful cry and then Okami chuckled. "I'm so sorry! A-Are you ok?!" Yuki asked in worry. Charmander gave out a sigh and then Yuki picked him up. "Already out to a rough start I see." I teased.

"No... I think he's fine." Yuki said as she took a look at a small scrape on his elbow. "Char, Charmander!" The Pokemon cried in anger. It then slapped Yuki in the face with it's tail and jumped off from her grasp. "Hey!" Yuki said as she held on to her cheek and then Charmander laughed and stuck his tongue out at her, taunting her. "Yeah... He's Impish natured so he'll do naughty things like that." Okami said while the Charmander was snooping around some test tubes.

A scientist looked in horror as the Charmander was about to drink one of them. "No!" She cried while the Charmander drank it. Instantly, he spat it out and then put the tube back. "What was in that?" Taurtis asked while Tortoise went down from his arms. "Just some flavored liquids of pokèmon food were testing. That one was dry, which explains why he disliked it." She explained while I looked at the last pokèball.

Then I glanced at the two Pokèmon and saw Charmander scratched Tortoise in the face. "Charmander no!" Yuki cried as she returned him to his pokèball. "Would you like to nickname your Pokèmon?..." Okami said as she sweatdropped. Yuki shook her head. "Why didn't my Pokèmon fight back?..." Taurtis asked.

"Tortoise has Mild nature, which means it doesn't like to harm others as much." Okami said while Taurtis sighed and retuned him back to his pokèball. "Well it's something that's not that bad." He said while Okami looked at me. "Now you want a Bulbasaur... Or I have an extra Charmander in the back over there." She said as she pointed to her desk.

"No, it's ok. I'll get him." I said as I got the ball and threw it in the air like my other friends did. When he came down he landed in my arms perfectly. But he didn't smile like I did. My short chuckles were gone while I noticed the serious look on his face. "W-What's wrong with mine?..." I said while he lightly jumped out of my grip. "He's Lonely natured... He likes to be left alone. He doesn't really get along well with others either." She said while I looked curiosity.

"C 'mere buddy." I said as I knelt down to face him. "Bulba..." He mumbled while I smiled. I petted his forehead and he closed his eyes. "He seems to like you though." Okami said while he gave out a very tiny smile. "He smiled, is that... Is that something to be proud of?" I asked she nodded and then his smile went away. "Nickname?" She asked.

"No, I'll just keep him as Bulbasaur..." I said as I returned him into his pokèball. "So I was the only one to name mine?!" Taurtis cried as me and Yuki nodded. He groaned and we started to head out of the lab. "Thanks Professor!" We all cried as we left. She waved and as we left I bumped into somebody. "Hey, watch it! I don't have time to bump into losers like you." The guy said as he walked past me.

We left the lab and then started walking over to Route 1. "What was that all about?" Taurtis asked while I shrugged. "I have no idea, but who cares! Let's go to route 1 to train our new friends!" I cheered as we began to run towards route 1. "YEAH!" Taurtis shouted as he threw his fist in the air. Our journey has finally begun! We are now officially Pokèmon trainers!!
