Chapter 6: New Pokèmon!

Sam's POV

After we left the Pokemon center after we stayed their for the night, we started going to Viridian Forest. We would have to get passed it so we could go get our actual first badge. We stopped in front of the beginning of the forest. "Worried?" Grian asked.

"Just a little." I informed him

"Don't worry, we're a bit nervous ourselves, right?" Yuki told everyone.

"Yeah." Taurtis said while we stepped into the forest.

When we went inside the area was fairly dark and spooky. You could hear the leaves rustling with others. The sound of the wind sounds really spooky too. We looked around and there was a path, most likely leading to Pewter City. "Ok, so let's just stay together." I told everyone.

They agreed to the plan and we followed the path. As we walked along we saw some Capterpie, Weedle, Metapods, and those other bug Pokemon. But I also spotted a Pikachu, weird...

"Hey! Are you guys lost?!" A very energetic guy with a butterfly net and a straw hat asked. "Kind of, we're not exactly sure where to go." I told him. He chuckled and then started walking in a different direction. "This way, fellas. It's a shortcut!" He guided us.

All this seemed a bit fishy, doesn't it? I wonder what could be this guy's deal. "Should we follow him?" Grian whispered to us. Taurtis went right behind the guy and the two started humming a tune. "I guess we have to." Yuki said while we followed behind the two. "See guys, he's nice!" Taurtis told us while smiling.

"Never trust strangers... So much for that." I said while we walked behind this strange guy. After a while of walking we came across some weird uncharted paths. I checked the map we had in our pokègear, but there was no connection here so the map wasn't available! "Do you have the paper map?" I asked Yuki.

"Yeah, right here, why?" She asked while taking it out. "The pokègear map doesn't work here, I need to be sure we're going the right way." I told her while she handed me the map. I grab it from her hands and then checked it out. I looked all around the charter areas and we didn't seem to be anywhere near it! This can't be good.

"I think we did do the wrong choice of following this guy, we're nowhere near the charted map!" I mumbled in her and Grian's ear. We took a look at the guy again and, for some reason, he randomly just... Stopped. Out of nowhere. "Are you ok?" Taurtis asked the man. "You guys." He replied. We were worried as to what was going to happen. Was he lost? Does he have no real idea where he going?

He started to suddenly chuckle and then turn back to us. "They're ready." He said. Before we could respond, a whole squad of weird people in black clothing with a red R in the middle came out of almost nowhere! "Oh my gord!" Grian cried while I took out my pokèball and then called out Bulbasaur. "Whoa, a battle is what you want?!" One of them asked as the mysterious bug catcher disappeared.

"This was a set up..." Taurtis said while the others took out their own starter Pokemon. "What do you even want from us? Who are you?" I asked them.

"We are team rocket, known for stealing rare and valuable Pokemon!" One of the grunts said while we looked at them, either in fear or confidence. "So, anyone of you wanna battle...?" The leader of the group, a much stronger looking grunt, asked. Nobody stepped up, and our Pokemon stepped back with us. Except for one person. "Grian, no! Your Pikachu is barely level 9!" Yuki cried while he stepped in front of us and then Pikachu followed behind him.

"So, little kid wants to battle i see." The grunt smirked while he summoned a Pokemon. "Go, Zubat!" Good thing Grian has this. Zubat is part flying type, Pikachu's thundershock will do two times more damage. "Easy..." Grian said while Pikachu stepped up.

Grian's POV

I glared at the trainer and then Pikachu stepped in front of me, he was on all fours while his tail sprang up. "Ready?" I asked him. He nodded while giving a confident try. Electricity came out of his cheeks while the Zubat flew around, almost as if it was slacking off. "ZUBAT STOP THAT!" The grunt commanded. "Use air cutter!"

The Zubat didn't do anything, it didn't listen to its trainer. "Quick, Sam, check what level it is!" I told Sam. He nodded and quickly got out his pokègear and scanned it. "Level 32!" He cried. No wonder it won't listen to the grunt! It's too strong for it to listen to him. "GODDAMN IT ZUBAT I SWEAR!" He shouted.

"Nows our chance, Pikachu! Use thundershock!" I cried Pikachu did as told and then, before it was able to hit him, the Pokemon was called back. "What?! You coward!" I shouted at the grunt while he looked the other way while he got out another pokèball. "Maybe this will be a better alternative." He said while throwing the pokèball. Out came a rhydon, dang it, I can't hit it! It's ground type! "Level?" I asked Sam.

"13! I think you should just quit, Pikachu can't attack it!" Sam said while I took a deep breath. I got out TM23 and then looked at Pikachu. "What's that?" Taurtis asked. I walked to Pikachu as I began to teach him the move that was inside of it. "It's iron tail, I wanted to save it for another time, but seeing as I have no choice..." I told them.

Pikachu learned Iron Tail now, great. Now time to end this Rhydon. "Since you wasted your turn on an item, RHYDON USE HORN ATTACK!"

Rhydon came running towards Pikachu and attacked him with his horn. It sent Pikachu flying, but luckily he landed on all fours! "Ok, our turn! Use Iron Tail!" I shouted while the grunt smirked and then Pikachu sprang toward the Pokemon. But he missed! "STOMP!" Rhydon stomped on Pikachu and that caused major damage, especially for a tiny Pokemon. It was bad... Pikachu only had less than half his health already!

"Iron tail one more time!" I said while the rodent slowly got himself up, and attempted one more time at the attack. "Horn attack, and call it a day." The grunt chucked while his partner did as told and attacked Pikachu. He cried in agony as he hit his back against the tree. Pikachu was on his last few health points... I don't know what to do! "Do we have any potions?" I asked the others. They shook their head, damn it. We should've bought some before we came here...

I gave up my turn, and tried to make Pikachu return. "MAKE THE BEAM HIT YOU!" The grunt shouted. The return beam hit Rhydon instead, making it not work! "Now horn attack to seal the deal for some sweet exp."

I watched in horror as I was going to witness my Pokemon faint for the first time... This must be painful. The Pokemon charged towards my exhausted partner. But when all hope was lost, a Pokemon jumped up in front of the attack and took it for Pikachu! It was a Caterpie! I returned Pikachu and then saw the caterpillar-like Pokemon was badly injured. Why did it do that?

"Let me take it from here, go Tortoise!" Taurtis said while the squirtle jumped out of its Pokèball and then drenched the Rhydon in water, making it faint. "Forget this, their Pokemon are just going to be useless anyway, let's go." The head grunt said as he returned the Rhydon. "Is the Caterpie ok?" Yuki asked. I shrugged and went to go take a look at it. "Are you ok fella?" I asked while I picked it up.

It seemed friendly. It looked at me with its big eyes and had a pained expression on. "Are you sure we don't have a potion or two?" I asked them. "Let me check." Yuki said while she dug into her backpack. "Just one, I don't have another for your Pikachu though..." She said while handing it to me.

I got it and used it on Caterpie, despite the fact that it stung. He felt much better shortly after. "There we go." I said while smiling at it being more happy. "Thanks for saving my Pikachu there, I owe you..." I told him while it smiled back. "You should catch it!" Taurtis said while handing me a pokèball.

"Huh? But... I don't know if it wants to come with me." I told him. I looked back the Pokemon and then I got the pokèball. "Or what do you say? Wanna join us? It's the least I could do." I told him. He nodded and then gently tapped his head on the pokèball. After it shook for a little while, he was finally caught. "Wow, I caught a Caterpie, I would've never guessed." I told everyone.

"Yeah, that's nice but we're still lost! We should get back on the path to Pewter..." Sam complained while he began walking where we came from. Everyone recalled their Pokemon since they weren't needed for now. "Yeah you're right..." I said while getting up and then following behind Sam... Well I guess I can treat and raise this Caterpie! It did help out my Pikachu a lot. I can already tell he's going to be s great addition to my team...

Sorry if the ending sucked it's late and Its almost time for bed and I had a long day... Hope you guys enjoyed though...
