It was raining outside and my hair was starting to get frizzy. I was staring out the window in English class, bored out of my mind. "Autumn, are you paying attention" the English teacher, Mr. McArter, asked me. "Uh, yeah" I said, snapping back into reality. Lately I haven't really been in earth. I don't mean that literally. I just have been day dreaming a lot and not paying attention. I feel, different. I know that sounds weird but, I feel like something is going to happen to me. I don't know what, or if it's bad or good. But, I just know something is going to happen.

The bell rings stoping me from day dreaming again. I get up from my desk and grab my bag. As I was walking out the door Mr. Arter stops me. "Autumn, come here. I need to talk to you" he says. "Yeah, what is it" I ask, turning around and walking over to his desk. "Lately, you haven't been paying much attention. Is there something wrong" he ask. "Not really. I have just sort of been out of it. But, I will try harder to pay more attention" I said, giving him my best smiling hoping he will let me leave. "That's the spirit" he says. "You are dismissed".

I leave the English room walking to my locker and getting out my books that I need for homework. English was the last class of the school day and I'm now free to go home. "Hey Autumn" I turn around, it's Zach. Zach is this kind of annoying but, very nice kid. It's just when he becomes close to people he gets a little obsessed with them. "Hi Zach" I say to him. "So uh, do you need a ride home because I could give you one" he asks. "No thanks Zach. I can walk" I say smiling at him. "But, something could go wrong" he says, giving me a concerned look on his face. "Zach, I have been walking home since middle school. I don't think that today something if going to go wrong. But, maybe another time you can give me a ride" I say and with that I close my locker and walk away because if I don't he will protest and end up giving me a ride home.

As I'm walking home I stop at this bakery slash pizzeria that's close by my house. I always stop there once or twice a day and buy something. I go there so much that they even offered me a job. "Hello, Autumn" yells the owner in his Italian accent. "Hello, Dave" I say, waving to him. The owner and I are on a first name basis. I walk up to the counter and order a donut. I give them a five dollar bill and get my change back. Then, I have a quick conversation with the owner and leave.

I get home hoping my dad is already home. But, I notice his car isn't. I sit down and decide to do some of my homework intill my little sister, Emily, gets home.

I hear the door knob turn and then my little sisters cheerful voice calling for me. "I'm up in my room Emily, hold on I'll come down" I yell down to her. I get up putting my homework aside and walk down stairs. "How was school Emi" I ask her. "It was great. We made mask" she says, pulling out a mask with glitter all over it out of her bag. "Do you like it" she asks. "Oh I love it" I said. "I'm going to start diner before dad comes home" I say walking into the kitchen.

I know that moms are usually supposed to make diner but mine isn't around. She left my dad with us when Emi was only 6 months old. I was eight when she left. I'm also very nice to my little sister. Most girls my age with little sister aren't very nice and that's because they have loving moms or loving dads. My dad does try but, he works all the time and when he comes home he is really tired and he comes home really late so Emily is in bed. We also don't eat diner together because he comes home to late. Sometimes I will wait to eat with him but when we do eat diner together he doesn't really talk to me.

I grab a pan and fill it with water. Then, I start the stove and put the pot on the burners and wait for it to finish boiling. When it's done I pour the macaroni into the boiling water and start to cook everything. When, I'm done I call Emily, she comes rushing down stairs like the energetic little girl she is. "Did you finish your homework" I ask. "No, but I'm almost done" she says, sitting down at the table. I put her plate down in front of her. "Okay, well when your done give to me so I can check it" I say and then we finish eating our diner.
