Harry POV.
I cannot believe I kept my composure upon meeting Rosalyn for the first time.
She was even more beautiful up close, and I didn't know that was possible. She was so beautiful from afar, seeing her completely enveloped in her writing. Up close, however, I could see the details of her. Her eyes were even bigger and more beautiful up close, and she had such a softness about her. At the same time, I could tell she was strong. She had a firm handshake and maintained eye contact. She was definitely nervous, but didn't lose herself. I respected her already.
I also loved Caroline's idea of having me write with anyone, but especially Rosalyn. I needed someone outside One Direction and our usual producers to write with. I needed a breath of fresh air, a new wave of inspiration. I was going to take it any way I could get it, and Caroline being the good godmother she was, was offering it to me.
"Well, I'll be back soon," Rosalyn shrugged, taking Caroline up on her offer as well and grabbing her purse. "Shall we?"
"I know a good place," I grinned, leading the way.
"This is so strange," she finally spoke as we walked down the sidewalk. "My prestigious editor boss set me up to write with the Harry Styles. So crazy."
She didn't sound starstruck, she simply sounded surprised.
"And I get to write with the Rosalyn Jones," I nudged her playfully with my elbow to get her to lighten up. It seemed to work, as she chuckled and nudged me back. "Seriously, you must be pretty good if Caroline Twist is recommending you."
"She hasn't even read anything that I've written. I haven't even really written anything yet!" she ran her fingers through her curly hair and let her shoulders droop.
"Then you really must be good if she sees that much potential," I told her as we reached the restaurant I'd had in mind.
It was a small, but marvelous little Chinese restaurant. I knew the family that owned it and they treated their customers with such care. I was always such a sucker for nice people. My naivety is probably what got me into so many 'relationships' in the tabloids, but I couldn't help but like people who were nice to me.
"Harry, good to see you again!" The youngest daughter of the family came to greet me. She was studying at NYU and still worked at the restaurant, but didn't want to take over the business. It was amazing how much I'd learned about people in New York in the short time I'd lived here. "You brought a friend!"
"This is my good friend Rosalyn," I introduced the beautiful woman next to me. If I had said 'writing partner', I would have had to answer far too many questions about my work, and if One Direction would be getting back together soon. I wasn't ready for those questions.
"Great to meet you, Rosalyn, I'm Mei," the woman shook her hand and sat us at a table.
"So, Rosalyn," I turned to her after we ordered our food. "Have you always lived in New York?"
"No," she shook her head and sipped her water. "I'm from Texas, originally. I lived with a pretty wealthy family and all that. But they never really approved of my wanting to be a writer. They thought I'd be poor and unhappy and unstable."
