"Run!" Susan whisper yells.
"Mrs. Mcready is coming!"
We scramble into the spare room, but when we hear her come closer we all climb into the wardrobe, or rather, into Narnia.
My hand burns, but it is a happy burn, a burning that is glad do be back in our own world.
Lucy leads us to her friend's house, a roomy cave, or what would have been one had it not been ransacked.
I step outside and survey the surroundings, looking for any and all signs of disturbance, when the sound of Lucy's tears draw me to her.
She hands me the crumpled note, a note that says he has been arrested for treason and signed by the head of police.
Aslan doesn't have police.
This isn't my father's country, or it isn't the same.
I've barely been gone a month.
My thoughts distract me until Peter is asking me something.
I look at him, feeling stupid.
"I asked you if we should trust him." Peter says, gesturing to a beaver diligently waiting for us.
I stare into the beaver's eyes, then kneel down so that I am his height.
He stares back at me, and I can tell the children are staring at me too. I slowly extend my hand towards him, my marked hand.
The children gasp, probably surprised by the lava swirling around in the N, but the beaver looks at it and bows to me.
"Princess Evangeline, you have returned with the royal highnesses." He says.
I nod and motion for the Pevensie children to follow us, as Mr. Beaver is now leading us to his house.
"Your a princess?" Peter asks.
I nod shyly, watching Lucy talk to Mr. Beaver.
"Hold on, if your from Narnia, then how can you be Professer Kirk's niece?" He continues thoughtfully.
I try to act out what I would say. First I point at myself, then I make an X with my arms and shake my head no.
"You're not?" He guesses.
I nod.
"Then why did he say you were his niece?"
I shrug my shoulders, then suddenly I become very drowsy.
My eyes shut of their own accord, and I topple onto the snowy ground.
