Zayn

I was fiddling with my buttons on my shirt in the mirror. I heard one of my sisters walking by. "Come here for a sec," I called out. The door was pushed open and in walked Waliyha. "Just the sister I wanted to see," I greeted her. She rolled her eyes.

"What do you want?" My sister was always straight to the point. I gestured to the shirt I was wearing.

"Do you think that this is too much? I don't want it to be too much." Waliyha threw her head back laughing. I didn't think i said anything humorous. "You sound like a girl. Where are you going anyway?"

"Lauren's family is having a barbecue, and I was invited. Now, is this shirt too much?" Waliyha tilted her head and rubbed at her chin. "It depends what they're all wearing... It is a bit much though when you're just going to sit out back in the sun." I nodded. Look at me, taking fashion advice from my younger sister. I've lost my cool. "Can I go now? Rachel Dodkins will be here any minute now in her new car. We're going to the mall." I shooed her away.

My phone started to ring. I rushed over to my bed and pulled it off of the charger. It was already a quarter past four, and the barbecue started at four. I could smell the food seething through my open window. I answered the incoming call from Liam. "What can I do for ya, mate?" I asked.

"Great thing you asked. I need some help." I could hear a ton of cars whooshing by him.

"What is it?" I asked.

"I thought I had a flat tire, so I got out of my car to see, but it wasn't a flat tire. I went to get back in my car but I locked the door.. and the keys still in the ignition.. and the cars still running."

"You've got to be kidding me. You fuckin' idiot."

"Sophia's with family right now an hour away, so she can't help me. I need you to stop by my flat, and use the spare in the plant pot to get inside and get my car spare in my first drawer in my bedroom." I groaned. "You aren't busy or anything, right?"

"Just already running late for a barbecue Lauren invited me to." I rushed out of my bedroom and down the stairs. I grabbed my car keys and out the front door I went.

"Where are you?" I asked starting the car up.

"I'm on A13.." He said slowly.

"You're almost an hour away, and your flat is twenty minutes away in the opposite direction.." I was starting to get irritated. I started the car up.

"Relax. You'll make it to your little barbecue date. I think I'm a bit more important right about now."

"I'll be there," I said. I hung up and tossed my phone to the passengers seat.

I tapped my fingers along the steering wheel as I made my way down the street. Through the rearview mirror I saw Lauren walking to the mailbox. I pulled my phone out and dialed up her number.

"Zayn. What's up? You headed over soon?" I made a left turn and placed my phone on speaker in my lap. "Maybe a little later than intended. Liam's having car issues. I'm the only person that can help him right now.. I'm sorry."

"No. It's okay as long as you make it. My dad made a lot," she giggled. "I'd better get back to the barbecue. I'll see you then?"
