Zayn

I was pacing around my room, trying on different shirts. I didn't want to be too dressed up, and I didn't want to seem dressed down. Lauren always said that I looked good in anything, but I wanted to impress her. Her family ended up canceling their flight, and booking a later date to come home. I missed her. "What are you up to dweeb?" I turned around and saw my younger sister, Waliyha standing in the doorway. "Just awaiting Lauren's arrival. She should be home in probably half an hour."

"Or eight minutes." Waliyha waved her phone. "Taylor's been texting me the whole ride back." She laughed and walked out the room.

Eight minutes?! I quickly took off the button down shirt I had on and slipped into a black v neck. I spritzed myself with cologne and made my way out of my bedroom, down the stairs and out the front door where my sister was already waiting. "I forgot her gift. I'll be right back. If they get here start screaming."

"I am not going to start screaming," Waliyha refused. I groaned and ran inside. Immediately I heard Waliyha screaming. I ran for the door and she started laughing. There were no Jaureguis in sight. "Really?"

"I was just testing it out. It works," she grinned. I rushed back inside and grabbed the small wrapped gift from my room and ran back outside.

Waliyha was in the middle of the street hugging Taylor tightly. The rest of the Jaureguis were dragging their suitcases inside the house. "Seriously Waliyha?" I headed down the stairs and toward the reunion. "Where's Lauren?" I asked. Taylor pulled away from my sister.

"She had work today, we dropped her off on our way back home." I groaned.

"Really? When's she get off?"

"At 10," she said. I looked at my phone and saw that there were four hours until 10. I sighed and nodded. "Alright." I shoved the gift into my pocket and made my way back to my house.

Lauren

"Lauren! Welcome back!" Jade greeted me as she walked behind the concession counter back from her break. I smiled at her and handed the customer her change. She thanked me and left. "Where'd Jakey go?" Jade asked adjusting the buttons on her vest.

"I told him that I could handle it, and he went back to the front."

"Look at you. You're a professional now. How was your trip back to your old home?" she asked.

"It was fun. I wish it didn't end." I glanced around to make sure that no potential customers were coming, and I turned to Jade.

"Do you know if Perrie has feelings for Zayn?"

"Do I?" Jade suddenly got silent, and then awkward as she turned away and started to fiddle with the liquid butter machine.

"So, she does."

Jade turned to face me. "I never said that."

"Your actions are speaking louder than words you won't say."

"Look- That's my best friend, I have no room to say anything."

"And I consider you a friend. Perrie told me about how you liked Liam and Sophia knew that and still made a move. I'm going through a similar thing. You know how it feels. You should tell me." That was it. That's what got to her. Jade sighed and frowned. "You didn't hear it from me, but she does. She didn't before, but she said when she saw him again a couple months back all the old feelings started to pulse through her, but she knew it wasn't right because he had you in the picture now.. She doesn't think it will last between you two.. Don't say I said anything, but she thinks Zayn might feel the same way for her." That broke my heart to hear. I wanted to stop listening. I hate that I even asked. Thankfully a customer walked up to the counter to distract me briefly.
