I Wait

I wait

I wait for the world around me
To build itself
Only to collapse
Again
And again
And again

I wait

I wait for people to grow old
Faces change
Perspectives altered
But people have a tendency
To grow old
Only to die

I wait

I wait for myself to do the same
Grow old
And then
I will too
Die
And that's okay

Everyone else does is or will have to do it
No big deal, right?

But wait
No, I'm not going to do that
How can I sit idly by
When people hit the ground
They're in pain
And I'm insane
I have no words for this
But how can we let this happen?

Doesn't it hurt to know that people are gone
Their lives taken away
Their thoughts now none?

For me, that hurts a lot
But I guess that can't change
And so
I wait

I wait.
