Blake's P.O.V. (Same day)
I knew my dad was home this morning because I heard him and one of his sluts going at it last night, before I grabbed my phone and blasted music through my earbuds. I drifted to sleep like that. I don't exactly want to run into either of them this morning, just like I never do. So I get ready in my room like always avoiding going outside of it. Until I realize I have to get something for me and Jay to eat at lunch--- she will only eat if I offer it to her so I always bring something.
I braise myself and open the door walking down the hall to the stairs. I hear my dad and whoever he brought home last night talking in the kitchen. I walk in the room and she stops her giggling making my dads eyes fly to me. I try to ignore as much as possible, but she whispers a little to loudly to my dad, "who is that Mark?"
"That's my horrible excuse for a son," he tells her not even caring to whisper.
"Oh. Was he here last night?"
"Sadly yes," I continue to fix my lunch when I hear her climb off his lap and him stand up. I stiffen my movements, but not enough for him to notice. He walks up behind me, and says with a hatful voice, "aren't you going to say hi boy?"
"Hi," I slightly turn in her direction, but I try to keep my head down. He hits me over the head when I glance up at her for a second to see her grinning.
"Why are you making two lunches," he yells beside me. I stay quiet. "Answer me boy!!!" he pushes me back against the counter. "You don't deserve more than anyone else. Do you think your special enough to get more than anyone else? Huh?!"
"No sir," I keep my voice quiet.
"Speak up!!!" he yells and pushes me into the wall. He takes one of the sandwiches wraps it up, and puts it back in the fridge. "Don't you ever let me catch you doing that again!" he hits me over the head again a little harder this time. He puts his arm around the woman and they walked out of the kitchen together.
I sigh out in relief that they were finally gone. I grab the one sandwich left and hurry out of the house hop in my jeep, and drive off to school.

I get to school and meet up with Ben,Nicky, Tate, Hunter, and Roxy. We all talk about random things that come to mind as we stand in the student parking lot.
Roxy starts yelling at Jay from where we stand. Jay keeps walking with an almost pained look on her face. I know something is up, but Roxy keeps trying for her attention till she simply walks her way still yelling. Jay notices her name being called and whips around before she reaches her, then walks our way.
"Are you def or something? I've been yelling your name ever since you walked past me like two minutes ago," Roxy asks a little over dramatically.
"You have?" Jay looks genially surprised that Roxy was calling for her at that time. Did she really not hear her? She must have really been thinking hard about something.
"Yes, I have! What were you thinking about anyway? You had kinda a blank stare on your face. Are you okay?"
"Yeah, no I'm-I'm fine really," I know she isn't by the way she stuttered. She hasn't really stuttered since we met.
"Okay," Roxy loses all visual worry and goes right back to being Roxy.
I continue to watch her for her tell tell signs, but she looked emotionless. Numb almost. Something is definitely wrong.
The first bell rings and we all start walking toward the school. I get up next to her without it seeming like anything urgent. I whisper quiet enough so that no prying ears could listen in, "so what's wrong. I know you well enough to know you were lying back there." okay so I've known her for a few weeks, but it feels like I've talked to her for months.
