I'm sitting on the couch at Myungsoo's dorm. I log into Netflix and search for movies. The smell of popcorn fills my nose. I look over to where Myungsoo is standing; he has a bowl of freshly popped popcorn in his hands as he's squinting at the TV.

Myungsoo: Let's watch something scary.

Y/n: I'd rather not.

Myungsoo: Please! If you get too scared, I'll be here to protect you.

Y/n: (scoffs)

He makes his way over to the couch. As he's about to sit down, he quickly snatches the remote out of my hands.

Y/n: Hey! Give it back!

Myungsoo: Hmm... I'd rather not (mockingly smiles)

Y/n: Why am I even friends with you? You're so mean to me. (Pouts)

Myungsoo: Because you l-o-v-e me. (Pokes his dimple)

Y/n: Just pick a movie already and I swear to God, if you pick a horror movie, I'll h-a-t-e you.

Myungsoo: Fine. Let's watch Lord of the Rings. Are you okay with that, crybaby?

Y/n: Sure (--;)

(Halfway through the movie.)

My phone vibrates on the table. I scoot to the edge of the sofa and open the message.

Myungsoo: What's wrong? Who is it?

Y/n: It's Seulgi. She's running late.

Myungsoo: Oh really? (-_-)

Y/n: She got held up in class, but she's bringing something to make up for it.

Myungsoo: She better. She held us up for like an hour and I'm hungry.

Y/n: But you hogged all the popcorn. Hey, tell you what, later we can stop by my dad's bakery, and I'll buy you a cookie?

Myungsoo: (^-^/)

I stand up from the couch and stretch. I look behind me and flash a quick smile before I walk to the kitchen. I pour myself a glass of water. As I put the pitcher back in the fridge. I notice Myungsoo's class schedule. We have the same microbiology professor. Maybe, he will let me copy his notes from time to time. Myungsoo has always been at the top of his classes even after signing up for extra credits each semester. So, he might graduate earlier than me. He already spent a significant amount of time completing rotations at hospitals. All he needs to do is apply for residency and he's all set. He always has everything planned out. I've always been jealous of that. In elementary school, we often competed against each other to see who can get the highest grade. Of course, Myungsoo always won. Except for that time in 7th grade, I got a 97% percent on a test, and he got a 94%. I know it wasn't by a lot, but I never felt so proud of myself.

Myungsoo: What are you thinking about? (Pokes my side)

Y/n: Jesus! (He scares me)

Myungsoo: My schedule must be so fascinating, huh?

Y/n: You're jamming about 20 credits in one semester? That's a lot of classes to pass... How do you do it?

Myungsoo: Do what? Pass classes? Well, you must study and pass fin-

Y/n: be the best at everything?
