Chapter 14: dat boi

(A week later)

[hoseok- 11:35 am]- hey, are we on for today?

I look down at my phone. I need to reply but what should I say?

Jungkook: hello~ earth to y/n.

Y/n: huh? What?

Jungkook: I was asking you if I can get some more money for the cash register.

Y/n: oh yeah. Let me go get it.

I reach for the drawer with the money and hand him an envelope.

Y/n: here. should be enough for today.

Jungkook looks down at my phone which I left on the desk. I cover the screen with my hand.

Jungkook: replying with simple texts. I see you're avoiding him. Why?

Y/n: (lies) I'm not avoiding him

Jungkook: did something happened at my house?

Y/n: no.

Jungkook: you have been so weird lately. I can't quite connect the dots.

Y/n: (changes the subject) okay then back to work.

Jungkook: alright coworker

Y/n: can you let that die already!

Jungkook: never.

He closes the door to my office. If he ever finds out that I kissed Hoseok. I'd never hear the end of it. I actually haven't told anybody. It probably meant nothing anyways. It's just sort of happened. I wish I can stop thinking about it. I hate to admit that Jungkook is right. I am avoiding Hoseok. I bailed on Friday plus the simple texts. I just- I don't know. It's not like I don't want to see him. I really do. I want to see him and kiss him again. Oh my god. This is why I can't see him. He's my friend. A friend that I'm head over heels for.

[you- 11:45 am]- I'm actually super busy with work! Sorry again :(

I place my head down on table. I hear a knock on my door. But before I can say come in, jungkook is barging in.

Jungkook: I know!

Y/n: what?

Jungkook: I know why you're being like this! Why you canceled on Hoseok. You two kissed!

I jinxed it.

Y/n: (shocked) huh? Excuse me?

Jungkook: you two kissed? Why didn't you tell me! Why didn't you thank me!?

Y/n: thank you? For what?

Jungkook: I set the plan up!

Y/n: how did you find out? Did Jimin tell you?

Jungkook: JIMIN KNOWS! I didn't find out until now. How did he know?

Y/n: he sort of caught us.

Jungkook: no wonder he came in the living room looking so embarrassed that day

Y/n: how did you find out? Damn it!
