Jared:

Monday morning I rolled out of bed at eleven o'clock, put on a pair of sweats, a T-shirt and slid on my sneakers. I'm sure my hair is sticking out twenty different directions. I walked out to my car, everytime I'm in it, I remember all the times we were driving around, from when she drove home before the game when Max and I got into that fight, to the day she died, when she sped out of the driveway after her parent's told her they were getting divorced. So many things have changed in the last couple of months.

I haven't talked to anyone since the funeral, so I owe some people an explanation, and there is a few people I need to talk to, and I need to get back to school, I missed an entire week of school and football, and I know Kelsea wouldn't want me to sit around moping.

I climb into my car and I feel my cell phone vibrate in my pocket, it's Skylar, I decide not to answer it and hit the decline button. When her number disappeared off of the screen, I'd seen that I had a video message from Holly. I hit the play button, and it's a video of her singing, "Pocketful Of Sunshine" by Natasha Bedingfeild, and at the end she says, "Hey, big bro, hope this cheered you up a little. See you later." It did cheer me up then it reminded me of all the times Holly, Kelsea, and I use to sit around the campfire , singing into the night. I quickly push this thought out of my mind, and drive off to school.

When I get there, it's the middle of fourth period, I get a late slip from the office, followed by a few sympathetic nods. I head to my locker, and just as I'm about to put my in my locker combination, out of the corner of my eye, I see Kelsea's locker, it has a bunch of pictures, flowers, heart cut-outs with little messages on them.

I grab some books out of my locker and head off to class, as I walk into class, it's silent, and everyone is staring at me, and then my teacher says, "Mr. Avery... take a seat." I handed him my late slip, then walked to the back of the room, to my seat.

He continues with his lecture on the civil war, but right about know Kelsea and I would be passing notes as we highlighted the thing he told us to and writing down random quotes he said from some of the people we were learning about because we knew there was going to be a pop quiz at the end of class and that they might be on that chapter's test.

The bell rang and he said, "There will be a test tomorrow on chapters 8 and 9. Hope you've been studying." I grabbed my bag and books and headed for the door. With one foot out the door Mr. Spencer said, "Mr. Avery, could you stay for a moment?"

I turned back and then he said, "Don't worry about taking the test tomorrow, okay?"

"Okay."

"And I'm sorry for your loss. Kelsea was an amazing student with a bright future."

"Yeah. Thank you Mr. Spencer."

"No problem." He said as I was walking out of the class. I headed towards my next class, when Holly saw me, and waved me over to her locker. "Hey, Jared. You decided to come?" I nodded then said, "Yeah, I decided it wasn't very productive, me sitting home." She nods, then asks, "Did you get the video I sent you?" I answered with a grin on my face. "Yeah, I did. Thanks. I'll see you later" And gave her a hug before running off to lunch.

I walked into the lunch room and every head in the cafeteria turned and looked at me, people were whispering as I walked over to an empty table. After I sit down everyone goes back to what the were doing before hand, except for a few people, who kept looking back at me. I pulled my lunch out of my bag and set it on the table. When I look up, Wynter and Sky are walking into the cafeteria, punching each other playfully in the arm, then they look in my direction, and come running in my direction. They both slide into a chair across the table from me, and Wynter said, very slowly, "Hey, Jared."
