Jared:

"Why would it matter if it hurt me?" She asked.

And just as I was going to say it, my dad is coming up the stairs, saying, "Kelsea, you're dad is on the phone, he said he needs you home." She takes the phone from my dad and starts to walk down the stairs, talking quietly into the reciever.

I whispered to my dad, "Are her parents still separated?"

He nods. "Her dad filed for divorce."

"Who is she living with?"

"Her dad, her mom is in rehab, he's next door."

I remembered everything from before the accident, but nothing between then and now. "Hey, Kelsea?"

"Yeah?" She said her back still too me.

"Are you okay?"

"Yes." She said turning around to look at me. She was smiling and happy, overly happy. "So, what do you want to do?" She finished.

"Jared you're suppose to be resting." My mom interjected.

Then Kelsea said, "How about a movie?" I nod. She walks over to her book bag and pulls out a stack of DVD's. "What are those?"

"Every movie they released, while you were in a coma." She says slowing down as she said the end of the sentence.

"Sweet." First word that came too my mind. "Movie binge." I really need to shut up. I just don't want this to be weird, no matter how weird it is. We both plop down on the couch, Holly walks in, tossing us an open bag of potato chips. Kelsea and I say simultaneously, "We forgot to put the movie in."

"How are you guys going to watch a movie if you don't put anything in the DVD player?" Rhetorical question, I know, but, "Holly, will you please put the DVD in?" She argued with me for a minute, then got up and put the first movie off the stack.

We were halfway through the stack of movies, we decided to take a brake to get more snacks, Holly fell asleep after a while, so it was just Kelsea and I in the kitchen. I was grabbing drinks out of the fridge and Kelsea was making popcorn. "Are you back at school?" I asked.

"No, I'm still doing my work with a tutor, but as soon as I'm done with physical therapy. You'll be out for a while, right?" I nodded

"Too bad football and volleyball are over." I said, trying to carry on the conversation.

Then she said, "Yeah. Did I tell you who won the state championship?"

I thought for a second, "I guess I forgot about it. Who won?"

"Seattle High, duh!! Football and volleyball." We hug and cheer for a minute, then break when the microwave beeped. "Why are you two being so loud?" Holly asked.

"Sorry." Kelsea and I say simultaneously.

Holly yawned, then said, "Whatever, I don't know how you guys watch that many movies in a row."

Kelsea's phone rings, then she says, "I should probably head home."

"I thought we were going to finish the last few movies?"

"I'll leave them here and we can finish them tomorrow night." Kelsea said, shutting the door behind her.

Holly and I had followed her to the living room, "Is everything okay with her?" I asked, Holly shook her head, then walked upstairs with the bowl of popcorn in her hand, continuing to shake her head.

Kelsea:

My dad texted me, and told me to come home. "What now?" Earlier my dad called and told me that my mom left rehab. A few weeks after the accident my dad filed for divorce, then a few days later my dad helped me get her into rehab, and I guess she left.

"In the kitchen." I walked through the living room, setting the stack of DVD's on the coffee table, walked through the dining room and into the kitchen.

"Hey, Kelsea." It was Skylar. I stood there. Debating in my head whether to kick her out or talk to her. My dad gave me a look telling me what my choice was, he stood up and walked to the living room. I put on a fake smile and sat in the chair my dad was sitting in. "How can I help you Skylar?"

"Have you talked to Jared?"

"Yes. Why?"

"Has he remembered anything else?"

"He hasn't said anything about it. I think you should leave." She stood up and walked out of the kitchen. I knew I lied to her, but... Jared said he remembered everything that happened. Does that mean he remembers... everything we both said.

I yelled to my dad, "I'm going to bed."

"Okay."

I went and laid in my bed for a while. Around three o'clock in the morning, I heard a knocking sound at my window. I climb out of bed, when I look out the window, at first I don't see anything, then Jared comes out of the shadows. I sign to him, What are you doing?

He signed, Come down. I pulled my socks and sneakers on, and tiptoed down the stairs. Jared was waiting on the front lawn. He motions for me to follow him. "Jared, what are we doing?"

"Come on." He says climbing into his Camaro. I walk around and open the passenger door and climb in, "Where are we going at this hour?"

"Surprise."

I didn't know how to respond, but I figured the closer we got, I'd figure it out. Forty-five minutes of driving I hadn't figured it out yet. It might not have been my best judge of character, but, you only live once. "Here, put this on." He says tossing me a bandana.

"Why?"

"It's not a surprise if you figure out where were going."

"Fine." It felt like forever, but eventually the car came to a stop. I hear Jared's door open and close, then feel the wind hitting my arm. Jared takes my hand, leading me out of the car, I take in a deep breath, before I can place the smell, Jared says, "Take it off."

I slid the blindfold off of my head. "Jared, you kidnapped me at three a.m. to come to the lake."

"I didn't kidnap you, you came of your own volition."

"So... Why did you bring me out here?"

"I have something I want to tell you...
