"...people live their lives bound by what they accept as correct and true... that is how they define reality. But what does it mean to be correct or true? Merely vague concepts... their reality may all be an illusion."

-Itachi Uchiha, literally bae

Hello everyone! It's TinkerBell2019 again! Happy holidays- what did you get this Christmas? (If you celebrate it) I hope you had a great holiday season, since the New Year is right ahead of us! Hopefully 2016 is twice as good as 2015 was, have a lovely year-

Okay, so Itachi is our new main focus now. Itachi is literally one of the most complex and misunderstood characters in the entire series- his actions are misunderstood and he's made out to be a bad guy for most of the Naruto series. He is hated for the entire first and original Naruto series- then not until the later episodes of Naruto Shippuden is introduced as an almost completely different and kind hearted character. He could be the kindest characters in the entire series.

Putting that aside, this quote was stated in chapter 385 in the Naruto manga. If you read it closely, over and over again, then you can break it down pretty easily- believe me. Itachi is known to be very vague when speaking, his words always have a much deeper meaning- especially considering everything he does is meant to benefit those he loves most.

When he says, "bound by what they accept as correct and true...", Itachi wants to tell us that we as humans- even him, live our lives based on what other people tell us is correct. When we were young children, we would accept what our parents told us was wrong and right because they would teach us what they find acceptable- we never really had our own opinion on what we found correct or wrong. "That is how they define reality" means exactly what it sounds like- that whatever we accept as correct and true, is what we base reality on.

Well what the heck does that mean?

Okay- if you hit a girl it's wrong, correct? Well who taught you that? You're parents, an adult, some kind of authority taught you this fact. Well imagine if they taught you that hitting a girl was correct- imagine if every time you would hit a girl, you would be rewarded. This would change everything- our entire reality would change and woman would most likely not be at all equal to men.

That is exactly what Itachi meant- he knows that we live based off of what we're told and what will gain us things. If there was some sort of universe where all bad things were found as correct and true, then we'd probably base our entire beliefs around that fact.

"But what does it mean to be correct or true? Merely vague concepts..."

If underneath all of this nonsense talk there is an actual meaning, here it is- there is no such thing as correct or true. We make everything up- nothing means anything, and we only make things like correct or true to make ourselves feel useful. People who follow rules and enjoy being known as correct and kind- they aren't anything!

This is when stuff gets serious again...

We are living of information others give us- we have no real opinions, everything we think is correct is actually an illusion made by those who have power and wealth. Rules and laws are merely illusions of what others want us to believe- we were born and bred to be what others want us to be without us even knowing it, and the only ones with real opinions are those with power in our society.

Did I crush your dreams yet?

Yeah I mentioned before how much of a negative point of view I have of this world- my apologies. Once again I blame my horribly cruel English teacher. I truly hope you enjoyed traveling into the depths of Itachi's mind, it was a pleasure interpreting his deep and dark ideas and opinions of our society today! Have a wonderful 2016 year-

And don't forget- stay in school, don't do drugs, and tell someone they're beautiful! Because we all need a compliment sometimes, right?

By the way- you are beautiful!
